Erin’s lab partner Zhen was a genius. Also a nerd. But also, in some indescribable way, at least in Erin’s mind, sexy. Try as Erin might, however, she couldn’t get Zhen to make the first move. Late nights in the otherwise empty chem building with Erin wearing nothing but a flimsy apron failed to spark Zhen into action. When it came to matters erotic, the guy was clueless.
Midway through the semester, Erin came up with a plan. She invited Zhen to her sorority dance. “The theme is spontaneous combustion,” she told him. “It involves a unique catalyst.”
That got Zhen’s attention.
It turned out Zhen was not a bad dancer. Maybe a little stiff.
At the refreshment table, Erin ascertained that Zhen was more than a little stiff.
“What about this catalyst you promised?” Zhen asked.
Erin pointed out the cups. “We just fill one of these babies up with the special catalyst and Bob’s your uncle.”
“My uncle?” Zhen asked.
“Yes, but it’s extremely potent,” Erin cautioned.
“Probably why the cups are so small,” Zhen surmised.
“Quite so. Why don’t we take one up to my room and perform the experiment?” Erin suggested.
“Now what, do we drink it?” Zhen asked, once they were in Erin’s room. “Wait a second, we forgot to fill the cup.”
