Moving day.
I wake up, shower, French braid my hair into pigtail braids, and get ready. I put on jean capris, a peach Juicy t-shirt, and my tennis shoes.
On top of everything else that we have been doing lately, we have also been shopping, buying some new clothes that are popular here in the States. The good thing is that there are a lot of similar clothes all around the world. The house has been painted, the rugs put down, the kitchen redone, etc. So much has been done to that house that I almost feel bad for it. It actually looked really good before we did stuff to it, but at the same time, there were some things that needed fixing. The kitchen for instance, before it was actually pretty bad, but now it was amazing, with lots of windows. We have patios, balconies, etc. all over the house, all looking out towards the ocean. It really is a perfect house.
I do my makeup, put on some jewelry, and pack up the last of my things. Pearl and Veronica are coming tomorrow, and I can't wait. I take my duffel bag out, and put it by the door with everyone else's things.
Going back into our room, I open up the curtains. The California Sun shines bright.
Adrienne comes out of the bathroom, wearing jean shorts and a black tank top.
"Hey, will you French braid my hair?"
"Sure, come here, and sit."
She sits on the floor, with me on the bed, and hands me her brush and two hair elastics.
I brush out her hair, and part it down the middle.
"Excited about moving in?" I ask her, putting one side in a ponytail, and brushing the other one thoroughly.
She doesn't answer for a few minutes.
"I guess. I just hope that school is good. I mean, what if the schools here are totally different than the ones that are in Paris?"
She speaks in French. When we are around our parents, they usually like us to speak in English, but when we are alone, we speak in French and a tiny bit of English.
