Chapter 6

I wake up at a weird time. I look at my watch. It is two forty.
I look over at Danny. He is facing me now. He looks really peaceful.
I notice how his black eye looks even worse now, and his lips is starting to heal a little bit. I hear voices outside the room. I walk over to the door, listening. I hear the kidnappers voice, and someone else. I can't tell who it is.
I turn around when I hear Danny moving.
I look over my shoulder at him.
"Danny!" I whisper. "Someone's out there!"
He looks over at me.
He comes over, and puts his ear to the door.
He walks back over to the bed, and beckons me with his hand.
"Danny, what's going on out there?!"
"I have no idea, but he cannot know that we heard that, okay?"
I nod, "Danny, do you think that there are some other people who are here besides us?"
"I don't know, and don't really care, but all that is important now is us, and we have to get out of here."
"How though? I mean, I doubt that anyone can find us! What are we going to do?!" my voice rises.
Danny puts his hand over my mouth. "Shh ... not so loud."
He keeps his hand over my mouth for longer than necessary. I almost have to brush him off. Our kidnapper unlocks the door, and Danny drops down and shuts his eyes, pretending to do be asleep. I do the same. Our kidnapper comes in, and I hear his footsteps. The next thing I know, I am grabbed, dragged off the bed, and literally thrown on the ground.
"Ow!" I cry out in pain.
I open my eyes, and find the kidnapper there standing over me, looking meaner than usual.
"Hey Danny, why don't you come over here and help your little girl out. Did you see that? Did you see what I just did to her?"
