Chapter 14
The second volley of arrows finished off all those that had not been killed with the first volley. Those that could, moved forward toward the fighting. Keal’s soldiers swept behind the enemy cutting them off from the shoreline. All those mounted on horses charged through the rear line of the enemy killing another 50 or more with lances.
General Dane realized that he was quickly losing this battle tried to retreat only to run into Keal’s forces which did not give any ground. Mia was watching over A’Na-Ya as she treated injured soldiers. Tia was watching over them both. Three may their way past the fighting, Mia wildly slashed at the first moving him away from the wounded and A’Na-Ya. Tia blocked the next enemy’s sword with her left sword and then body checked him sending him to his back, then stabbing the third with her right sword as he was watching the other land on his back. Mia spun around and dropped onto the fallen enemy stabbing both her daggers into his chest. Tia rolled her back to Mia’s back toward the last enemy standing and kicked him in the belly. This knocked the air out of him and caused him to bend over. Tia had regained her feet and took his head cleanly.
Keal had dismounted and was walking through the enemy striking dead everyone that faced him to stop him. Once he reached Dane’s horse, Keal grabbed the bridle and twisted her horses head causing it to lay down. Dane was not expecting this and was thrown from his saddle.
