Chapter 14

The second volley of arrows finished off all those that had not been killed with the first volley. Those that could, moved forward toward the fighting. Keal’s soldiers swept behind the enemy cutting them off from the shoreline. All those mounted on horses charged through the rear line of the enemy killing another 50 or more with lances.

General Dane realized that he was quickly losing this battle tried to retreat only to run into Keal’s forces which did not give any ground. Mia was watching over A’Na-Ya as she treated injured soldiers. Tia was watching over them both. Three may their way past the fighting, Mia wildly slashed at the first moving him away from the wounded and A’Na-Ya. Tia blocked the next enemy’s sword with her left sword and then body checked him sending him to his back, then stabbing the third with her right sword as he was watching the other land on his back. Mia spun around and dropped onto the fallen enemy stabbing both her daggers into his chest. Tia rolled her back to Mia’s back toward the last enemy standing and kicked him in the belly. This knocked the air out of him and caused him to bend over. Tia had regained her feet and took his head cleanly.

Keal had dismounted and was walking through the enemy striking dead everyone that faced him to stop him. Once he reached Dane’s horse, Keal grabbed the bridle and twisted her horses head causing it to lay down. Dane was not expecting this and was thrown from his saddle.

Dane got to his feet quickly, showing his fighting skill and experience. Keal just faced him and laughed. This made Dane angry, he slashed at Keal with his sword. Keal just blocked his attack with his bracer covered forearm and slashed Dane from his left shoulder to his right hip. The three-bladed sword left shredded and left a huge gaping wound regardless of the armor it destroyed.

Dane tried to swing his sword at Keal again, this time Keal caught his wrist and just held the sword arm stretched outward. Arcing his sword in a full circle Keal hacked Dane’s right arm clean off right at the elbow. Staring in disbelief, Dane nearly gutted and missing his right arm staggered back away from Keal.

Keal just pointed his three-bladed sword at Dane’s legs saying “yEhE (away in elven)”. Each blade flew striking Dane in each thigh punching through the armor and shattering the bone as the tips broke out the back side. Then turning to his rear Keal took the head of the enemy that was trying to attack his back.

Looking out across the battlefield Keal could see that there were less than 50 enemy soldiers still standing and all were being overpowered and killed. Smiling Keal turned back to face Dane who was now sitting on the ground.

“WHO ARE YOU?” he asked.

I am called Keal, Lord Keal to most, but just Keal to my friends and allies.
