Chapter 1

When Mark was born in 1968, he was smaller then normal for a full term baby. His parents though he might have had problems. The doctor said that he was perfectly healthy, but small.

As time went by his body grew at a slow rate, but he was extremely smart. He was talking be the time he was eight months old. By ten months old he was walking, exploring and questioning everything. His parents didn't know what to do. They still asked the doctors about this. They kept saying to let him grow at his own pace. He starting reading by age one, by age two he was reading at fifth grade level. But his body was not keeping up. They grew frustrated but gave him all their love and every thing they could possible give him.

He started first grade as a normal kid, but when the other kids wanted to play. He wanted to read or explore. His teachers made comments to the principle about his abilities. They were told just keep their eyes on him.

Buy the time he was in fifth grade he was doing collage courses. His parents and teachers could not believe how polite and bright he was. Half way through the year the school moved him to eighth grade to see if he could coup with everyone. He excelled in every thing they gave him. His only problem still was his size. Now at the age of ten he was only three feet tall. His parents kept taking him to the doctors to see if they could help him. They kept informing them not to worry, just let nature take its course. The one advantage he had, all of the teachers kept an eye on him. Several of the female married teachers took a shine to him, their motherly instincts coming into play; they kept him close to them. He loved all sports but could never play due to his size.

Mrs. Johnson was his math teacher; she could not believe how smart this kid was. Still doing college courses, she decided to take him under her wing. To her he was very delicate and wanted to protect him. She was also very smart; she had graduated from college in a year and half. So she brought her books from college to help him along. All went well for them, by the end of the year, she cared deeply for him. So she called Miss Bridges, a high school teacher she knew very well and informed her that Mark would be going there at least for a year or till he graduated. Miss Bridges said she would look after him. Mrs. Johnson thanked her for being caring.

The following year Mark started high school. As he showed up at school that morning, Miss Bridges was waiting for him. She personally showed him around the school and got him signed up for his classes. He would be taking two of them, advanced math and computer science. They both got along famously, and then four months into the year, everything changed for Mark. He hit his growth spurt, puberty with all its hormones had kicked in.
