"Did you see Kathy, she's up front?"

"No, I didn't know she'd be here, has she been to the doctor again?" I asked.

"Oh no, she comes down here after school most days, and rides home with me," he said.

"Is it all right if I take her home today?" I asked.

"It's fine with me, but your Vette only has two seats," he said, nodding toward Jacob.

"Good, since it's Friday, I guess I don't need to get her home until Monday, in time for school," I said.

"If she wants to, of course she can, we'd love to have her. You know what my Mom and the others will do to her," I said.

"I do now, and I made sure not to mention it, she can find out for herself. I can't wait to call her," she said.

"Do you think she'll come out?"

"She's already dying to, I've been trying to get up my nerve to ask you. I was going to call you tonight, she'll be so excited when I tell her," she said.

"If you'd like, you can come out for breakfast and stay as long as we can get you to," I said.

"Well do you want me to pick you up, or nudge you?" I asked.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"I've already been to see your Dad, and he said I could take you home, if you want me to."

"Great, I get bored down here on the afternoons sometime."
