A fairy tale is a story that has far-fetching magical elements, fantastic mystical creatures, and the inevitable adventuring hero/heroine. A fairy tale is meant to teach a lesson or desirable behaviors in its intended audience; conversely, it can be said that rather than teach the desirable, it is a warning of what the undesirable can result in.
But do not fear, oh dear and tempted reader, what comes of this particular tale is more than just your everyday PG, child intended story. This is an adult's tale with more than just a hint of lust, and maybe even more! As for the lesson of this tale, it's this: Dare to dream and love and hope 'cause people lie, so trust your heart.
Back to our adult tale: it starts, as fairy tales do, with a 'Once upon a time, in a far away land... '
There lived upon a hill three comely lasses named Greta, Gertrude and Gene.
Greta was the oldest of the three with flaxen hair and striking blue eyes. She was tall and slim with big full breasts and legs that, many of the boys said, went for miles. She was, as far as the villagers were concerned, the prettiest girl that many had ever seen. But everything was not as it seemed.
Greta was mean; there was no nicer way to put it. She was the apple in her absent father's eye, and as such grew spoilt and lazy with an absolute awareness of the effect she had on men.
She knew that she would be wed to some high noble some day with lots of gold and her place in court, due to her dear papa's position, would be the envy of all the villagers. All she had to do was bide her time till she was called to court. The one thing that could be said to her credit was that she knew how to disguise her true and spiteful colors. To the world she pasted on a pleasant smile and to the men, particularly the men, a sweet and cloying voice that ensured she was always the center of attention. All of Greta's concerns revolved around her pretty self; Gene, the youngest of the three, would often refer to her as a twit because she was, quite honestly, as deep as a puddle.
To her sisters and their servants, Greta felt no need to hide herself. Mostly she would berate the servants, mock the youngest sister and laugh at the attentions that she received from the villagers, who she referred to as "the peasants." The only one she was somewhat decent to was her twin, Gertrude; perhaps it was their close association in the womb that predisposed her thusly, but it was likely as not due to the fact that she required at least one person to remain in her confidence and to help her conspire with when planning one of her mean spirited pranks.
Gertrude, the younger of the two twins, was very lovely in her own right. She had a head full of copper hair, bright and shiny as a new penny. Like her sister she was graced with moderate height and fair features that included wide, bright-green eyes that gave her a perpetual air of innocence.
(Dear reader; let me interrupt my tale to indicate that any who knew the truth of this pretty girl's character would snort with derision at the notion of her innocence. But perhaps I get ahead of myself; it will become clearer as the tale goes on.)
