Prologue
Alice checked the stew with a satisfied grin - it smelled perfect. Only one final ingredient left to add. Glancing around quickly to ensure nobody was nearby, she reached high up in a cabinet and pulled down a plain looking canister. Opening it, she scooped out a tablespoon of the light brown powder and added it to the stew. She thought that it seemed to be working, but there was a slight bit of worry in the back of her mind about the effect it might have on the rest of the family.
