The paintings of scarves in email from an art gallery intrigued Daniel. It was only as he studied the email more closely that he realized that the offering was not for paintings of scarves but for the actual scarves.

He sent a note to the gallery’s curator asking if it would be possible to purchase not just the scarf but the painting of it as displayed in the ad. He was hopeful but not especially optimistic.

The next day he received a return email. It would be possible. Daniel placed the order.

Not quite a week later the actual scarf arrived. Daniel was quite satisfied with it. He hoped Emma would like it. But what of the painting? He called the gallery. “It’s going to take a couple of weeks,” he was told. Now he had to decided whether to present the scarf to Emma now or to wait for the painting. He decided it would be best to wait.

But he couldn’t wait.

Emma loved the scarf.

Together Emma and Daniel celebrated in a most intimate and appropriate way.

A week later the painting arrived.

Emma loved it.

Together Emma and Daniel celebrated.

The next morning Daniel ordered four more scarves and paintings.
