The morning after
Ding-dong-ding-dong. The sound rudely invaded my dreams and woke me. A look at the clock through half-opened eyes told me it was 10.15 in the morning. There was a momentary panic that it was a school-day, then relief as I remembered it was Sunday. I pushed down the duvet and slid one foot off onto the floor as a gesture towards getting up. Immediately the stale smell from my pussy reminded me what had happened earlier that night.
Ding-dong-ding-dong. It wasn't going to go away! I sat up, struggled to my feet, slipped on my silky dressing gown over my nakedness and padded down the stairs in bare feet, eyes finally full open.
Ding-dong. "All right I'm coming" I shrieked and muttered to myself "Give me a chance for fuck's sake." When the front door was finally opened I blinked in the bright sunshine and saw it was my friend Sophie. "Oh, hi Soph. Sorry, I was still in bed!"
"Yeah, I gathered that much Annie. Hard night? Can I come in?"
"Yes sorry, and yes a late night."
"Oh yes, that's right, you had a date with your dozy brother, Sam was telling me! What was that all about?"
"Sssh, he's probably upstairs." I whispered, putting my finger on my lips.
"No you're OK, I saw him down the road, waiting for a bus into town I think. Come on, give me all the goss."
"Tell you what Soph. Can you make me a coffee while I have a quick shower, then I'll explain."
Sophie, I should explain, is one of my best friends from school. We are both 15, as are our other two best friends, Samantha (Sammy) and Sunita (Su). We sort of drifted together into a gang of four a couple of years ago after being in the same school hockey team, and have been pretty inseparable ever since. Sophie has a mop of fine, naturally blond and wild curly hair that is virtually uncontrollable, and in the slightest breeze loses any style you give it. My hair is the opposite, short, straight and very dark brown. I could go out in a hurricane and it would just flop back in place. All four of us are fit and slim, being keen on sports where we met I guess.
I live with my parents (who are in Madrid at the moment on holiday) and my brother David who, shall we say, is not the brightest star in the sky but is quite handsome they say. Sammy, I know, fancies him. He left school at 16 after a dismal showing with his exams and didn't think it worth staying on for advanced levels. He has had several jobs and only last week got a job as an office junior at the head office of a travel firm.
Fifteen minutes later I was back down in a t-shirt and shorts feeling almost human again. Sophie had the coffee jug hot and poured out 2 mugs of black coffee then we went in the conservatory to drink them.
"Come on then, tell me all about it," said Sophie, "You should've come to the party by the way, it was a good laugh."
"Not with Jimmy there, not after what he did!"
"Yeah, I know it would've been difficult for you. Never mind that, what happened last night?"
"We-ell, it's a bit of a long story but I ended up copping off with some girl would you believe!"
"Duh? A girl? You dark horse! I thought you went with your brother? I think you'd better start at the beginning. With your parents on holiday and David out we've got plenty of time for a long story!"
"Well OK. I don't know how much Sammy told you but it started Friday evening ...
David's Phantom Girlfriend
David came in my bedroom looking sheepish. "What's up Dave?" I asked.
"Annie, I could really do with your help," he answered, "I've got myself in a jam at work."
"What already? You only started there this week! How can I help?"
"Well, it's a little embarrassing, but I wondered if any of your friends could sort of pretend to be my girlfriend just for an evening. There's a dinner and dance at work that I've sort of volunteered to go to. Didn't like to say no as it was my first week there."
"You need a date for an evening? I suppose I could ask them as long as you remember they are only 15 and it'll just be pretend. So when is it?"
"Tomorrow night!"
"Tomorrow? Well, thanks for the warning you ass! Can't you just go on your own? You might meet someone there."
"Well that's the embarrassing bit. I've sort of said I have a girlfriend so they all expecting me to bring her tomorrow."
"Oh, I get it now! You've been bragging you have a girl and now you're trying to live up to your lies."
He hung his head, muttering "Yeah, something like that. It's a shame really because a girl at the office told me about the dance and was hoping for a date I think, but then the other bitches started saying about how I've got a girlfriend so I couldn't ask her. So can you help Sis? Pretty please?"
"Well, I'll phone around but it IS a bit short notice. So which friend do you want me to ask? Samantha? She thinks you're good looking I know, and she looks a lot older when she's made up." (David is 17)
"Yes, Sam would be great. Can you call her?"
I picked up my mobile phone from the dresser and dialled Samantha's short code. After a few rings she picked up saying "Hello?"
"Hi Sam, it's Annie."
"Hi babes, what's up?"
"I was just wondering if you're doing anything tomorrow night?"
"Saturday? Yes of course I am, it's Jen's birthday party isn't it."
"Oh shit yes, I'd forgotten that. Su and Sophie are going too aren't they? Oh, never mind then. It's just that my brother needs a date for tomorrow."
"Why don't you go with him as you're not going to the party?" Sammy asked.
"I don't think he wants a date that bad! Ha ha."
"No, I'm serious. Who'd know?"
"Maybe. I'll see. Anyway enjoy the party, hun."
"You should come too. You don't have to talk to Jimmy."
"No, I'd sooner not go. Still you enjoy it. I'm with Dave now so I'll have to go."
"OK babes, give us a ring Sunday and I'll tell you all about it. Byeee"
David had been listening to my side of the conversation and gathered it was no go with a date. "Sorry Dave, I tried."
"Thanks anyway. Who was it you were talking about that I wouldn't want a date with then? I'm desperate don't forget!"
"Oh, it was just a joke. She suggested I went with you!"
"Why is that a joke? That's a great idea. Why don't you? No-one there will know you."
"What? You would seriously go with your kid sister? Shit, you really are desperate aren't you?"
"Sure, you're great looking when you go out with your boyfriends! And it is only pretend after all."
"I don't know. Supposing they meet me as your sister some other time, how embarrassing would that be?"
"Why should they? I'll tell them we broke up next week so they won't expect to see you again and they'll all forget you after a while. Oh please, Annie, say you will. For me?"
"If I do you'll owe me BIG time, and I WILL want full payment believe me."
"Anything, I promise. Say you will!"
"OK, OK but don't blame me if it all goes wrong! Now tell me what you've told them about your 'girlfriend'. Have I got to dye my hair?"
"No, all I told them is the name, Barbara, and that we've only been going out a few months. Oh, and that we used to go to school together."
"OK So I'm Barbara and I need to look about 17. I'll see what I can do. Don't you ever do this to me again, you ass-hole!"
... So, anyway on Saturday I tried several outfits on and settled on that slinky black dress I wore at the end-of-term disco at school, remember?"
"Oh, I remember!" said Sophie. "Very sexy, had all the boys walking round with stiffies as I recall! Put the rest of us in the shade."
"Sophie you little liar! It was only that one boy who danced with me. The poor sod."
"Yes but it was funny wasn't it. The way he came off the floor almost bent double. I still laugh every time I think of it. Hey, yes, and what about that other one, Geoff something. The one who kept trying to slide his hands onto your bum? Don't tell me he wasn't sticking out in front."
"Alright, so it was two boys then. At 15 they can't help it anyway. So do you want to hear how the dinner and dance went or not?"
"Yes, of course I do. So you wore the sexy black dress. What happened then? And where did this girl come into it?"
"All in good time hun, so back to last night ...
Sister Act
It was a really weird time getting ready for the evening. We had talked about how we were going to act, trying to appear like a real boyfriend-girlfriend and we tried to get into part a few hours before we left. We walked around the rooms holding hands or with our arms around each other like we would do if we were going out. And yet it was my effing brother. The kid I've been arguing and fighting with all my life. The sod who's normally insulting me and now I was trying to act like his girlfriend! So, anyway, the time came for us to get all dressed up in our best togs.
"I don't think we're going to get away with this." I told him at one point.
"Why not? I think we're starting to look good together."
"We may look the part but we've been brother and sister all my life and we'll never keep up the act all evening. One of us is bound to say something wrong, or you'll call me Annie or Sis or something. I know you!"
"Well, that's why we need to get used to playing the part now. We should practice kissing too."
"Kissing? You must be kidding; I'm not kissing my brother!"
"Yeah, but that's the point I'm making, I'm meant to be your boyfriend and they'd expect us to sneak kisses now and then. We should make it look like we've done it before at least."
"I guess. God this gets worse and worse."
"Hey I'm just a boy. You've kissed a boy before I know. Just pretend I'm what's-his-name, James isn't it?"
"Don't talk about him, he's so history!"
"You dumped him? Shit, another one bites the dust!" he sang. "So what did he do wrong? I thought you were saying he's 'The One' only last week."
"That was before he tried to rape me! Well, not rape exactly, but it might have gone that way if my knee and his bollocks hadn't had a bit of a coming-together!"
"You should've told me, I'd have cut them off him. What a bastard! So is that why you're not going to the party?"
"Yes, he's going to be there. Let's not talk about him. Come on then, give me a kiss and let's pretend we aren't brother and sister."
... Actually, Soph, it wasn't that bad after the initial resistance of kissing my brother was out the way. In fact he's pretty good at it and I was beginning to get a bit damp, despite myself. Anyway it was just as well we practiced and I think we would've fooled anyone who saw us.
I spent ages getting my make-up just right and I looked at least 17 by the time I finished. And in that dress and a few bits of Mum's jewellery I looked pretty good, if I say so myself! David scrubbed up pretty well too and when we took the taxi to the hotel I have to say we looked a pretty cool couple."
"Wow, I wish I could have seen that, I don't suppose you took a photo."
"No, sorry. But anyhow, when we got there everyone was hanging around in the bar and they gave us both a glass of champagne. I know we were both too young but they must have thought we looked 18! David pointed out a couple of girls and said the youngest one, Kate, was the girl who told him about the dance."
"The one he reckoned fancied him?"
"Yes, her. She looked about his age and pretty cute it's true. She was with an older girl, looked about 19 or 20 and a bit like her so I thought they might have been sisters, so obviously Kate didn't find a date. The elder sister had very clear shining eyes and seemed to look right into me. It seemed difficult to look away."
"OK, so was it Kate you copped off with then?"
"No! If you let me finish the tale, you'll find out you impatient bitch."
"Oi, watch who you're calling names or I won't tell you about the party! He he."
"OK, so anyway back at the dance, there weren't many young people there so we wandered over to the girls ...
"Hiya Kate," said Dave, "this is Barbara, my girlfriend."
Both the girls seemed to be giving me the once-over with their eyes and I wondered what they were making of me. "Hi," responded Kate, and to me she said, "Pleased to meet you Barbara, you look lovely. This is my big sister, Teri — sorry, Theresa."
"No, Teri is fine." Her sister interrupted. "I told Kate to call me Theresa here as it sounds more posh, but it's a losing battle! Love that dress Barbara."
"Thanks Teri, yours is very sexy too. You both look great." I was thinking why the hell did I say she looks sexy? Teri looked at me, smiling, and raised her eyebrows just a little.
Kate was talking to Dave while we were exchanging looks. "So how long have you guys been going out?" Oh oh, first test!
"Oh, only about 2 months now isn't it Barb?" he answered, flashing a look in my direction for confirmation.
"9 weeks today Dave," I said.
Just then someone rang a hand-bell and the conversations in the room faded to quiet. A voice announced something about going to the tables and gradually everyone funnelled into the large room where many round tables were arranged, each with 8 chairs. Everyone was wandering round looking at the place tags for their names. We already knew we were at the same table as the girls so we fanned out until one of us located the right table.
There were already two middle-aged couples standing by the table when we found it, and after introductions we all sat down. Kate was seated next to David with me on the other side of him, and Teri sat between Kate and the middle-aged wife directly across from me. All through dinner Teri seemed to be looking my way and we kept smiling at each other every time our eyes met. There was no getting away from it, I was definitely attracted to this girl for some reason, and by the look in her eyes it was pretty mutual.
The meal was lovely and there were no embarrassing moments or questions. There were a few short speeches and presentations by the bosses while we had coffee, then the tables were moved to the sides away from the dance floor and a band appeared at one end of the room. We four teenagers arranged ourselves in a little group so we could talk and David went to the bar to get us some drinks assisted by Teri. It left Kate and me alone for a while to chat.
"Thanks for getting us tickets at the last minute," I told her, "It's a really nice do."
"That's OK. Actually I was rather hoping he would offer to be my date for the evening. That was before I knew he had a girlfriend of course," she added hastily, sensing she may have said the wrong thing.
"Yes, Dave wondered if that was the case. I think he quite likes you too, so I'll have to be careful!" We both laughed. "So, do you fancy him a bit too?"
Now she looked a bit embarrassed and her face flushed. I had my answer but she lied "No, I was just asking him as I didn't have a date. Of course I wouldn't dream of competing with you, so don't worry." Trying to change the subject, she said "I think Teri is quite taken with you too, so I told her to behave herself!"
"Oh, does Teri bat for the other side then?" I kicked myself for asking that, why would I want to know? But anyway Kate didn't seem fazed by the question.
"I don't know really, I think she bats for both sides but I'm not sure. So how did you two meet?"
"Well, we've known each other from school really and bumped into each other again a few months ago." But where were we supposed to have met again? I had no idea. Just the sort of question I didn't want! Had Dave said anything about it to her at lunch?
Fortunately, at that moment the other two arrived with the drinks and Teri made a point of giving me my diet Coke. Again she gave me that intense look, and again that smile. Yes, I was pretty sure now that she likes me!
Before he sat down Dave asked me if I'd like to dance, and as his 'girlfriend' I couldn't really say no. It gave me the chance to ask Dave about how we were supposed to have met.
"Just say we met at school originally but just bumped into each other at the shopping mall or something. She'll probably forget about it now anyway."
"She DOES fancy you, by the way."
His eyes lit up. "Wow, did she say so?"
"She didn't have to, it was all over her face, but she denied it to me of course as you are here with me.
