May 5: Dear Diary, I'm ten today! Can you believe it? I don't feel any different and I sure don't look different. I'm almost done with fourth grade. I'm so sick of Mrs. Beaner that I can't stand it any more. Fifth grade should be so much cooler. I hope I start to 'develop' before then. I think I'd like to have a boyfriend y'know?

May 15: Dear Diary, I'm soooo jealous! Tammy Winter is starting to grow boobs already. And of course she had to make sure everybody in school saw them. May 17: Dear Diary, this sucks! Mom and Dad just told me that they're shipping me off to HICKSVILLE UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF JULY!! My stupid Aunt Jane and Uncle Jack live on a dumb farm in NEBRASKA. I mean, the last time I saw them I was like, 5. My cousin, Jack, is already like 13 or something but he was a total dweeb from what I remember. Now I'm not going to be able to hang out with my friends, swim, or anything else all summer long. I'm going to be stuck on that stupid farm and have to do CHORES! My parents hate me. My life sucks.

May 20: Dear Diary, LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! That part is really cool. But things still suck. Billy Cruise finally said HI to me! He is soooo cute. He even said we should hang out together some this summer! And I'm getting sent off to NEBRASKA instead. Now he's going to hang out with that slut Tammy Winter instead, I know it and I'm going to be totally nobody next year.

May 25: Dear Diary, I need to write more. I should be able to this summer since I'm not going to be doing anything else - assuming I don't die from all the stupid farm chores I have to do from sunrise to sunset all day long. Maybe I'll still have enough energy to write.

May 28: Dear Diary, Well, I've arrived in HICKSVILLE. This place is freaking HUGE. I swear we were driving through the farm for an hour before we got to the house. And my cousin is a stone FOX! This might not be all bad. There are horses I can learn to ride, lots of cats, and a swimming hole too! Maybe Jack will want to hang out some. Aunt Jane and Uncle Jack seem pretty cool too. I've got my own room and the chores I have to do don't sound too bad.

May 29: Dear Diary, OMG, they wake up freaking EARLY here! It wasn't even daylight yet and Uncle Jack was knocking on my door. I had to get up, make my bed, and then sweep the whole house and of COURSE everyone tracked in a ton of dirt when they came in from their chores so I had to do it all again this afternoon. And I got stuck doing the dishes too, which is really gross - everyone's half-chewed food all over their plates. NASTY!

June 1: Dear Diary, I don't think I'll ever get used to getting up this early. Still, once everything is swept and cleaned, I get the day to myself. Cousin Jack is incredibly hot. We haven't gotten to talk much yet though - he's been doing all sorts of really hard work on the farm. He has to feed all the animals (there are horses, cows, chickens, and even some pigs!) and he gets to DRIVE! June 2: Dear Diary, I got to meet a boy who's my age today. His name is Johnny and he lives next door - which is about as far away as the next county out here. I think I blushed 'cause he told me not to worry that he had on a swimsuit and laughed. I thought I was going to die. I wonder what he looks like naked?
