Even though Nancy and Maureen fell pregnant during different months. Their first visit to their family doctor, Dr Penelope (Penny to her friends) McLeod, was a scary moment for both of the Marsden women. Nancy, having been pregnant before wasn't worried about four month pregnant on her first visit. However Maureen was really worried at three months. When the doctor confirmed their pregnancies and asked who the father was. Both women became scared at what the ensuing consequences might be.

"I know that Frank isn't the father of your baby, Nancy, because I know that Frank is both impudent and sterile." she said, " Without a DNA test, I don't know who fathered your baby, Maureen."

"Robert my son is the father, of both babies" Nancy replied quietly, as if to hide the fact.

"Well seeing as there are no genetic diseases in your family, the risk of producing children with birth defects is only slightly greater than the general population," The doctor said. "You should both disregard the myths that society would have you believe!"

"Are you sure?" Maureen asked.

"I can't be a hundred percent sure," she replied. "In my opinion all three of you are exceptionally attractive, intelligent and physically fit individuals, it is far more likely than the general population for you to produce attractive, intelligent and physically fit children. However; I would be very careful where Melanie is concerned, being that Robert and Melanie are twins. There could be a problem if she gets pregnant."

"As far as I am aware Robert and Melanie haven't had sex," Nancy uttered.

An ultrasound was performed eight weeks later on both Nancy and Maureen. Nancy's was fine. Maureen's however showed some anomalies which the doctor couldn't explain.

In the twenty-eighth week of Nancy's pregnancy she looked as if she was about months pregnant, instead of her seven months. Her once smallish breasts were filling with milk and her belly was well rounded with a faint line running down the middle. Maureen however was much smaller at five and a half months. She was sick of herself, she had gained weight at an alarming pace. A second ultrasound was performed on her. The discovery was that there were two foetuses inside her womb. As the next few weeks passed she had to go to the bathroom to pee all the time and she was always hungry.
