Chapter 15: All Together

The weeks rolled past, Mike and Kelli managed to be together most weeks but not all, although she had healed a lot, not being with Mike once a week left her very depressed. Mike also felt very depressed, knowing that Kelli would suffer each time they missed a week. The end of the school year came and Kelli graduated, she wished Mike could have been there but could not think of a valid reason to get him there.

Mike was also thinking of ways to spend more time with Kelli before she would be leaving for college, she would need to be strong enough to survive without him.

He had a brainwave, his mother's brother had a log cabin in the woods 100 miles north of them, and the family had borrowed it on occasion when he was younger. It was very secluded and private, if he could convince his parents to let him have a camp out there with his friends before they split and went their different ways maybe Kelli could join him.

He started by asking mother if she thought her brother would agree to letting him take his friends up to there to spend couple of days at cabin as a boys camping adventure.

She said, 'we will have to ask your father first, but I think we can assume the cabin will be available, my brother told me some time ago if you ever asked to use it, he would agree, he has no children of his own and you are his only nephew.'

His father said, 'no, you can't spend couple days, waste of time and effort, how about you spend a week there, but you must have two or three friends with you in case of accidents and all of you must keep mobile phones handy at all times. If you go swimming, one must remain onshore with a phone. There is plenty of space as the cabin has four beds. How would that do?'

Mike went to phone the three friends; all thought it a great idea. His father talked to each of the three fathers to explain the conditions and check they were happy. Soon all had agreed and planning for the adventure started. His father told him it was his adventure, he had to do the planning, workout the supplies needed, organize his friends, make sure they brought their share etcetera.

The cabin had a diesel generator and bottled gas cooker. It took water from the lake it was on the side of, and had a small pump to fill a rooftop tank to supply water in the bathroom. It was rustic but had reasonable facilities.

Having got agreement Mike broke the news to Kelli by phone, asking if she could get away to have a holiday in a woodland cabin. 'Tell your parents it belongs to a relative of a friend who offered you a chance to borrow it.'

Kelli said, 'how long do we get to spend there, the whole weekend?'

'How about the whole week, no one within miles of us, a real log cabin to live in, a crystal clear lake to swim in, nothing to do all day but enjoy being together. Do you think the angels would like to join us, I want to bring my three friends as well so we can all be together?'

Kelli was over moon at idea of spending whole week with him and having the three guys there would be a blast.

Mike said, 'lets not tell either group the other will be there. I will just tell the guys we are just having a camping out adventure and you tell the NCA that you have got a chance to spend some time with them before you split for college.'

'NCA what's that?'

'The Naked Cheerleader Angels silly.'

Laughing Kelli agreed she would not tell the NCA that the guys would be there. She told Mike that all of them had said they wished they had someone like him for themselves.

Mike though his friends would love to make friends with the NCA

Kelli asked what the cabin had; Mike said a large main room with kitchen area, a large bathroom, and bedroom with four beds. Power comes from a generator and the bathroom has its water supplied by tank on the roof filled by a pump, the water is pure lake water.

He said both groups need to bring food so neither side appears expecting others.

Everything was ready and they would be going the following Saturday.
