Chapter 4: Animals and Pornography

A good measuring stick that can point out the fact that animalism is a fast-growing perversion in America is pornography. The sex tastes of the country can be indicated by which pornographic movies are the most popular.

Thirty years ago stag films showing attractive men and women in "normal" intercourse were the most popular to be shown around fire houses and garages. Twenty years ago "abnormal" intercourse was the main attraction with women performing oral acts upon men. Ten years ago another new wrinkle showed up in America's pornographic film tastes. Films that depicted homosexuality became popular; women with women and men with men.

Although "normal" and "abnormal" intercourse between men and women are still the most widely viewed sex acts in pornographic movies homosexuality had made an impressive inroad into the field. Psychologists claim that this sudden interest in homosexuality indicates the extent the sexes have become alienated from one another. Who can deny that homosexuality has increased by leaps and bounds over the past decade?

And now still another type of pornographic movie is becoming popular... sex films involving animals. Does this mean that now people are not only becoming alienated from the opposite sex but from the human race itself?

Up until three years ago sex films showing men and women with animals were all but unknown. Then these pictures took one tenth of a percent of the pornographic film market the following year. This is not much but last year animalism movies took one percent of the entire sex movie racket. It still does not seem like much but just look at how fast animalism movies have grown: TEN FOLD in only one year. At that rate, inside of another decade, pornographic movies will cater mainly to people interested in sex relations with animals.

Yet, it is extremely doubtful that animalism in movies will become all that popular. Like films depicting homosexual behavior it will "peak out" once it has established its market. And just how large will be the market for films showing humans in sexual contact with animals? At this time it is hard to judge. However, pornographic film makers have become astonished at the number of requests they get from buyers who want animals In the sex movies.

So far there are only a few pornographic movies that depict animalism exclusively. When animalism is featured it is usually as part of a film showing the other forms of sex between humans. The same can be said for homosexuality in films. While moves showing homosexuality exclusively are a minority male-male and female-female love scenes have now become a stable in stag films that show the usual oral and genital intercourse between men and women.

There is one pornographic movie called "The Dog Lovers" that shows animalism exclusively and has already become a classic in this new field. As blue movies go It is very well done. Usually pornographic film makers pay little attention to technical matters and simply aim their cameras at naked bodies in action. "The Dog Lovers" is obviously the work of professionals, however.

The opening scene shows a strikingly beautiful girl of about twenty three walking with her Great Dane along a street that looks like a part of Los Angeles. The camera then picks up another dog-walker. He is a handsome young man with another Great Dane. The couple meet in the center of the street when both of their dogs begin to sniff at one another. Subtle camera shots reveal that the man has a male dog and the girl has a female.

Although the film is a silent it is made clear that the young couple, although strangers, find something to talk about since they both own the same kind of animal. Both Great Danes are good-looking animals and photograph well. Great Danes, in fact, are the moat popular animals used in sex films. These dogs more closely match humans in relation to the size of their sexual parts so that intercourse with them becomes fairly easy. The Great Dane is also a bright and obedient animal despite the fact he is one of the largest dogs in the world.

In the movie called "The Dog lovers" the young man asks the girl to join him for a drink at his apartment. She agrees and both go walking down the street with their big dogs.

The next shot shows the inside of a fashionable apartment. The door opens and in come the young couple with their dogs. The man makes some drinks and they sit down on a sofa. After taking a couple of sips of their drinks the man whispers something into the girl's ear. She smiles and nods. They start to remove their clothes.

So far the unsuspecting viewer thinks that he is in for the usual stag movie stuff between an attractive man and an attractive girl. It is the shock that follows that has made "The Dog Lovers" so popular a film.

When the girl strips down she reveals an excellent body. Her breasts are large and firm and the waist is small and trim. The man is muscular and in a state of sexual arousal. He is quite well endowed.

The couple look at each other and smile. This is as far as they ever go together. The girl snaps her fingers and brings over her female dog and offers her to the man. He does the same to his male Dane. The camera goes back and shows the entire body of the man and dog locked in a sexual position. The naked girl is kneeling at her Great Dane's head speaking to her and holding the animal in place. The male Dane is prowling back and forth seeming to be excited by this sex scene.

Finally the young man breaks contact with the female dog and leans back on the sofa with his maleness in a limp state. It is now the girl's. Turn. The young man brings the male Dane over to her and she strokes and kisses the creature, soothing it. As the man holds his animal steady the girl slips one of her hands over the creature's sex part.
