Jack was assigned to the school laundry for the afternoon and he found he was popular with the girls who worked there. One girl seemed to watch him closely but she was never alone. She had a strawberry blond hair that sparkled when the sunlight from the windows hit just right. Jack found this fascinating to watch. She was standing outside the door when Jack left that evening.
"You're Jack, right?"
"Yes", he paused and looked into her face. Her full lips matched the angelic features that gave her an innocent presence.
"I'm Susan; meet me tonight during recreation I'd like to talk to you." She smiled sweetly as she gave him a kiss on the cheek, then she turned and walked up the drive towards the women's residence.
Jack arrived at the recreation field in the circle about 20 minute late. The students were playing some kind of search and conceal game where you try to steal the opposing team's flag. Jack had seen his dad use a similar version of this exercise to train his men. He walked over to the refreshment table and got something to drink while he watched the activities.
Marian walked up behind Jack. She stood there fearful of speaking with him. Marian didn't know him at all but she was attracted to him in a sexual way that she wasn't comfortable with. Feeling embarrassed by her unusual shyness she turned to leave.
"Marian, don't leave just yet. I'd like to talk to you." Jack turned to face her. He noticed the shock on her face. She didn't have a clue how he had recognized her with out seeing her.
"How did you know I was behind you?"
"You really smell good" He grinned at her. "You were wearing the same perfume today in the cafeteria." It wasn't the whole truth but it should settle her curiosity.
"I was trying to decide if I had the courage to talk to you or not. I'm not usually shy around boys, but you affect me differently somehow." She paused and looked at the ground. "I like you and I would like to get to know you better." She watched his face to see his reaction. "I can't believe I said that. Look, I think I'll go see if I can make a fool of myself with my other friends."
"Marian, please don't go. I want to get to know you too. Come walk with me." They walked over to a nearby bench and sat down together. Talking came easy and they were soon sharing their lives with on another. As the evening progressed they were soon sitting as close as they could to each other.
Marcie watched the two on the bench and realized if she wanted a chance with Jack she would have to act fast before that blond bimbo had her way with him. She soon had the outline in mind on how to accidentally run into him during the afternoon. She was baby-sitting for the dean's wife tomorrow and that would give her access to the rooms. She spent the rest of night finishing her plan.
Bobby stood in the shadows of the trees at the edge of the circle and watched while Jack and Marian talked. Bobby was still angry and looking for a way to even the score with Jack. Seeing Marian spending time with him only added fuel to the fire. Bobby was interested in Marian and that usually meant that everyone else stayed away.
"We gota teach that guy a lesson. He's over there putting the moves on my girl." Rage caused Bobby's face to take an evil shape.
"I think you've spent as much time as you can stand in the classroom with him. He turned you every way but loose. Man, that guy can fight, and he's not even a little scared of you." Jason smiled as he thought of his friend's misadventure that morning. He knew better than to laugh, or he might become the outlet for Bobby's anger.
"He just got lucky. Next time I'll know what to watch for, and his ass is mine."
"What have you got planned Bobby? Coach is already upset as hell because of this morning. He told you to stay away from him if you want to play in the opening game." Jason slapped his buddy on the back. "Let's go visit with the girls. Cheryl and Linda and some of their friends are over by the refreshment table."
Bobby watched his friend walk away. He knew he couldn't win against Jack in a fair fight so he would have to find another way. A little bit of humiliation would be good for that asshole. He'd plan that later, right now would be a good time to work out with Linda, that was always fun. Their last session at the lake was one for the yearbook, but he didn't think it would pass the censors. Soon Jack was temporarily forgotten.
