Chapter 27: Epilogue
Joshua stood looking at Hattie as she stood at the end of their bed. The food had been put in the kitchen and he’d stoked the fires in all the fireplaces. Now, he looked at his beautiful wife, who smiled at him and reached out to him. He moved over to her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head up for a kiss. As their lips met, it was as if a fire rushed from their lips through Joshua’s body. He was burning up, and he wanted nothing more than to be consumed.
Before he was ready, she pulled away and took off his jacket. He struggled to help her as she moved to his shirt and unbuttoned it. Once it was off, she stepped back and bit her lip shyly. “Do you like my dress? I made it just for you.”
He growled, she was killing him with teasing. “I love it. But I love you more.”
