Chapter 14: Words with Friends

Two days have passed since Bob got to see his young neighbor in a beautiful display. A very naked young lady. A naked young girl who put herself willingly on display for only his eyes. Why did she do that? Bob thought to himself. No logical ideas came to mind. A gorgeous view, nonetheless.

He spent the next couple of days figuring out how to take the pictures and video off of his camera and put it on his computer. He had to make some calls to his grandkids. He knew that they would be tech-savvy enough to know how to transfer the pictures. His 17-year-old grandson was able to take him step by step on how to transfer the pictures. Bob thanked his grandson and promised him he would take him to a Bucks game as soon as the NBA season would start. Everyone in the state was a huge fan of the Greek Freak, especially his grandson who played basketball for his high school. Robbie, his grandson, convinced him that just getting a new smartphone would make things easier in the future. He would have his Google accounts set up on the phone and the pictures and any videos would have instant and easy access to them.

So, Bob went to the cell phone store and got help from the salesperson. A nice young man. The young man put in Bob’s email login and password. Bob told him he liked to do puzzles and crosswords. The young man added Words with Friends. Telling him that it’s a game that he could play with his grandkids, showing him how it’s like Scrabble. A game that Bob was familiar with. The young man showed him how easy it was to take pictures and videos. The salesman told him about free music apps like Pandora and Spotify as well. Bluetooth. Bob was there for a good two hours getting a tutorial about all the new things that a smartphone can do that his old flip phone can not.

Satisfied, he went home and went for a nice long walk around his neighborhood. Taking pictures of birds and trees and whatever else he wanted to. He wanted to get used to the phone, the salesman told him to play around with it as much as he could for the first couple of days. As everything was new to him he spent the whole day playing on it, and he quickly became comfortable with it.

As he was making his way home, a school bus pulled up alongside him. Coming to a stop just ahead of him. The doors on the bus opened up and out came the object of his most recent dreams and thoughts. Sonya stepped out of the bus. She quickly noticed Mr. Johnson walking. Smiling, “Hi, Mr. Johnson.”She said to her neighbor. She instantly thought about her actions from a couple of days ago. Hoping he didn’t see anything ... well more like she was hoping he saw but wouldn’t say anything to her about it that could be embarrassing. She wasn’t ready for that kind of conversation.

“Well, hello there Sonya,” Bob replied. “How was school?” He smiled back at her. “Learn anything interesting?” He gave her a wink and a smile.

“Oh, you know all the great stuff. Algebra, science, history blah blah blah.” Sonya told him, her head going side to side as she was being purposefully over dramatic. She smiled. “All the good stuff. My friend Lauren is having a Halloween party. It will be my first girl-boy party. So that should be fun.” Bob gave her a knowing look. “Wow, boy-girl party? Do your parents know about that?” He asked her. “I remember my first girl-boy party. First time I ever kissed a girl.” He told her, with a wink. That made Sonya giggle. They walked a little more before finally making it to in front of each other’s house.

“Hey, look what I got today!” Bob told Sonya, as he pulled his new smartphone out of his pants pocket. Sonya looked at his new phone, not really impressed as she had seen hundreds of phones. Still, she faked it, “Wow, that’s pretty cool.”
