Maggie smiled to herself.
The twenty-five-year-old blonde was comfortably seated by the door.
It was a warm Autumn morning in the central business district.
And once again, the former ‘Miss Victoria Police’ had been rostered to work with Constable Joanna Parrish on a quiet Monday in Melbourne. They had performed ‘Point Duty’ together at the corner of Flinders Lane and Market Street – ‘Probationary’ Constable Kelly O’Rourke and the youngest of the select clique of policewomen who worked for Sergeant Tess Gallagher at the Melbourne District ‘Traffic and Patrol’ Division, ‘Probationary’ Constable Deirdre ‘Dash’ McKinley, had been working ‘Point Duty’ for the morning Peak with both Senior Constable Lindy Schroeder and ‘Probationary’ Constable Susie Raynor at the far busier intersection of Flinders Street and Queen Street.
But for now, they were all content to just enjoy the reassuring warmth of the late morning sun from the secluded courtyard on the fifth floor of the old Prudential Building in Collins Street.
Policewomen, for the most part, were still something of a novelty. And, the Melbourne District ‘Traffic and Patrol’ Division now had more female police officers than either the City West ‘Uniform Branch’ of ‘Force Reserve’ at Russell Street. More commonly known as ‘City Traffic’ within the Victoria Police, it was rumoured to be an unofficial ‘dumping ground’ for troublesome lesbian and bi-sexual policewomen.
There was little to do after the morning ‘Point Duty’ – the recent ‘Operation Goodwood’ throughout inner Melbourne, had seen the arrest of many of the more troublesome criminals downtown. There had not been any Street Crime in days. Or, so it seemed to the ‘City Traffic’ Policewomen.
And yet again, the police radio was silent. Neither was there to much traffic around.
Margaret Ann Doyle closed her eyes. She uttered a muffled sigh.
Her short-sleeved uniform shirt hung loose and unbuttoned. And, she wasn’t wearing a bra.
The small courtyard was a sanctuary – just like nearby ‘The Paragon’ Café on Queen Street.
An escape from the drudgery of ‘Point Duty’ and ‘Foot Patrol’ on a quiet Morning Shift.
Standing by the wall, Joanna Louise Parrish gazed down apathetically at the passing traffic in silent thought.
An attractive twenty-five-year-old brunette, she’d unbuttoned her own pale-blue uniform shirt almost to her waist as she savored the moment – the Manageress of the Prudential Insurance Sales Office, allowed the ‘City Traffic’ Policewomen to use the courtyard as a private retreat.
And, a number of her Office Girls and Saleswomen from Prudential Insurance, often enjoyed a few minutes of forbidden intimacy with the young policewomen. Like many other lesbian and bi-sexual Businesswomen, Office Girls, and those wealthy Toorak Socialites who frequented inner Melbourne, they found the idea of ‘sex’ with a uniformed policewoman something of a ‘turn-on’ for Lesbianism was still illegal in Victoria.
Not that Joanna and Maggie were the only female police officers enjoying the courtyard.
Her uniform shirt knotted ‘halter style’ about her waist, Lindy sat close to Maggie.
She was the oldest of the policewomen. A month older than Sergeant Tess Gallagher in fact.
A vivacious thirty-year-old blonde career policewoman with questionable morals.
Nevertheless, she had long been the ‘heart ‘n’ soul’ of the Melbourne District ‘Traffic and Patrol’ Division.
Senior Constable Lindy Schroeder had been the first female police officer at ‘City Traffic’ - she was not however the most ‘senior’ for that was now Senior Sergeant Monica Draper, the new ‘Officer in Charge’ who’d just arrived on promotion. Not that she was particularly concerned. Lindy had carved out a niche for herself and was happy in herself. Toying with the collar of her knotted shirt, she was looking the former ‘Miss Victoria Police’ over with an approving eye.
In the middle of the courtyard, Kelly and Deirdre were kissing – their uniform shirts knotted ‘halter style’ like that of Senior Constable Lindy Schroeder, as they put on an impromptu show for three office girls.
On the far side of the courtyard from her colleagues. Susie was kissing the Manageress of Prudential Insurance – the fifty-year-old Businesswoman ‘fingering’ the twenty-five-year-old blonde policewoman as they sat together on a bench by the window. It was Susie’s turn. The cost for use of the private courtyard was letting the kinky Manageress do whatever she wanted with one of the policewomen.
The previous day it had been Rochelle – next week it would probably be Kelly or Deirdre.
High above Collins Street, there was little to disturb either the ‘City Traffic’ Policewomen or the ‘Prudential Insurance’ girls as they enjoyed each other’s company – that was until the door opened. Lindy hesitated.
