Chapter 5
The clean-up crew arrive three hours later. They had their work cut out. They had to get rid of the bodies and the barn full of weapons. The boss offered us a lift back to base in the chopper but we decided to drive the Range Rovers back to Hereford.
We got one of the clean-up guys to drive us back to where we had left the Range Rovers. We stowed away our weapons and changed into our civvies.
Baz and I jumped in one and MC and Chalky took the other. We drove down into Oban and found a bar. We ordered food and had a couple of beers before heading south.
The journey was good, we went over Rannoch moor and down the side of Loch Lomond. We had music on and had a good sing-along.
We swapped drivers halfway down the M6 and I slept until we reached Hereford.
It was two days later that we had a debrief. The head shed and the intel guys talked us through the mission and asked us question after question. Once they were happy, I packed some gear into a rucksack and text the girls.
I smiled and waved at the guards as I left the camp and headed down to Birmingham.
