Chapter 1

My wife and I have had some work done in her family home in Trinidad and Tobago. We live here in the United States but often go to visit friends and family there. This is not a story of fiction, but it is true and ongoing now. During the time when we were refurbishing the family home we met Arthur a joiner (cabinet and furniture maker). We contracted him to build the kitchen cabinets. His work was wonderful, completed in a timely manner. Through the procedure Arthur was professional, honest always friendly, and a true gentleman.

Unfortunately, Arthur became ill and was diagnosed with kidney disease. He is on dialysis and needs a transplant. He cannot afford one. The most economical place to get a transplant is India. We have started a go fund me page for him. And have contacted some charitable organization for money or services. I hope to document his successful journey through the process. I have been lucky and honored to meet Arthur. I have spoken to him and told him of my experiences going the transplant wait and procedure. I wish him the same success I had with the procedure. I had one great advantage over him in that my insurance paid for mine. My goal is to make this happen for Arthur.
