Two Names asked White Hawk if she was ok and if she had been hurt or molested.
White Hawk said that she only had been rough handled and groped by two of the bandits, one reached inside her top to palm her breast, pinching her nipple, before removing his hand and slapping her breast. The other bandit ran his hand up her skirt to palm her butt cheek squeezing and kneading it roughly while saying what a ride she would be.
Two Names getting upset at this happening quickly moved to his totes and found the one containing a small frame revolver. It was a Charter Arms .32 Magnum undercover 6-shot double-action revolver. This was my conceal carry. It had a short 2” barrel unfortunately it was stainless steel silver with the black pachmayr grip. It has half the recoil of the .357 or .38 calibers and outperforms the .38 caliber ballistically. I only had one speed loader for this revolver but being a flip-out cylinder it would be faster to reload than the common single actions available at this time.
White Hawk was in awe when I gave her the pistol explaining that she was to keep it on her at all times when not in our tent. It had a nylon shoulder holster that I adjusted to fit her comfortably keeping the pistol under her left arm and the speed loader attached under her right arm.
White Eagle commented that squaws were not allowed to carry weapons when he saw White Hawk the next morning at breakfast. I said that if it upset the camp or went against his rules White Hawk and I would leave so it would not continue to be a problem.
Golden Hawk asked if White Hawk knew how to use the pistol or was it just for show. I asked if either of them had shot a gun before. Both nodded and Golden Hawk said most adults know how to shoot a gun the problem is hitting what you aim at. White Hawk nodded.
I said that after breakfast I was going to teach her to be an expert with the pistol.
Several of the braves laughed saying under their breath that squaws could not shoot a weapon successfully.
I thought about the escalating situation and decided to go ‘All In’ asking Golden Hawk if she wanted to learn to shoot as well.
White Eagle said he was going to watch me teach his daughter how to shoot before deciding if she would be allowed to keep the weapon or have it given to a brave that could use it properly.
I started to object but decided that it would not matter since I was very confidant White Hawk would be able to shoot very well.
