Chapter 52

They Return to the Farm and Sit Discussing the New Prospects and Then Retire for the Night

Having now gotten back to the farm and their vehicles parked out of harms way where they were, everyone went into the bunker and sat about in the living room discussing various things, mostly centered on the two new prospects.

After some discussion about that, everyone decided it was time for bed and retired to their rooms and went to sleep.

The next morning as usual Aunt Mammae and Geraldine woke up first got the coffee going and deciding to have pancakes for breakfast.

While sitting there having their morning discussion about things both talked a bit about the two new prospects and also about the restaurant and how Aunt Mammae would show the owner cook to make both her famous goulash, and how to make a good southern favorite chicken fried steak, telling Geraldine in fact that she will show her how to make and cook them.

Deciding now they both did to go ahead and get some round steak out of freezer and have it defrosting to make tomorrow night for supper for everyone.

Aunt Mammae solidly swearing to Geraldine that the secret was all in how you beat your meat, causing them both to burst out laughing.

Soon both Gerald and Marcus had awakened and came in and sat down and drank their coffee as all adults discussed the days activities and events.

Marcus telling them all that having the hand held radio he had now, he could get on it and stop things a bit, so they all could go and look the barns progress over and get an idea how it was laid out inside.

Everyone fully agreed to that so that would be the days main event.

Aunt Mammae and Geraldine made the pancakes and had them on the table, just as both sleepy eyed girls came into the kitchen and sat and drank their hot chocolate to awaken, and everyone ate breakfast and then the girls helped do all the dishes and get them rinsed and drying.

Once breakfast was out of the way all hit the shower and put their days wear abouts, Marcus deciding as early as it was that it would be the perfect time to go above and head out to the barn and look it over.

So they all went atop standing there in the safety corridor as Marcus got on his hand held radio and said; “This is Numero Uno, this morning pause all construction for a bit, as we all will be out in the barn looking it over and inside looking at the layout!”

All supervisors responded they would not start working until everyone was back in the safety of the corridor after going and looking the barn over.

So everyone walked out to the barn some fifty or so yards away, and were amazed at the progress of it, then walked inside and walked about as Marcus described to them the rough layout everything was at the moment where this and that would soon be.

The entire farm family was totally amazed at the huge space inside to house their animals when needed.

Then they came across these three particular room layouts and Marcus told them they would be very special special breeding rooms, the farm family just figuring they would be used to breed the various animals in them.

Little did they know of the true intent of the three rooms!

Having walked about and seeing everything they all left the barn went back to safety of the corridor as Marcus used his portable radio and said; “We are all in the safety of the corridor now and you can begin work for the day.”

Soon after they heard all the machinery starting up and the crews ready for another days work.

Now back down into the bunker and sitting about in the living room everyone agreed another good day of just lounging around and resting is what everyone needed.

So they did just that deciding it was a day of fend for yourself eating wise, so it was make your own sandwiches and all would have chips with them and not do any cooking today.

The rest of the day everyone did just exactly that going to their rooms and taking naps and just lounging around watching some tv or listening to the local radio station.

That evening everyone gathered at the table and had a simple make your own sandwich and chips on the side and got the plates and such washed and rinsed and set in the drainer to dry.

They again sat about in the living room watching a bit of tv then all retired for the night into their bedrooms and slept.

The next morning as usual Aunt Mammae and Geraldine awoke first and off in the kitchen getting coffee going and deciding on breakfast for everyone.

As they sat about drinking coffee and talking about things, the main topic was about how their new mansion above them was in the state of construction it was in.

Aunt Mammae telling Geraldine most likely another week when it would then be move in day, as finishing touches and all rooms being furnished etc...

Then as both Gerald and Marcus woke up and came in and drinking coffee and talking among the adults as they were when asked about the construction state Marcus told them all; “I will have a personal meeting with all supervisors today and discuss when the actual finish dates are on both the home and the barn.”
