Chapter 3

“Are you freaking kidding me? You actually went to...” Michelle mumbled the last part as I covered her mouth.

“Shh. I don’t want my Dad or Brother to hear. They wouldn’t understand,” I whispered.

I double-checked that my bedroom door was locked and plopped down on my bed.

My best friend stared at me as she got herself under control.

“Wow, I never thought you’d actually go there. And you asked for two lovers. Not even I have done that.” Michelle checked the door and windows then added,” What did you think of the guys when you watched the video? Were they hot? Please say they were hot.”

If I had been a turtle I’d have retreated into my shell right then and there. Instead, I said, “I don’t know. I haven’t had the courage to check yet. Does that make me a chicken or a coward?”

She sat down next to me, “Not at all. It’s only natural to be nervous. I didn’t look at my first video for at least three weeks. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I actually knew the guy. Ever since then he and I hook up from time to time. Which brings me to why I came over here in the first place.” She looked me deep in the eyes. “I have a boyfriend. We agreed that it was time to tell you because it’s getting serious between us. But I thought it best to tell you alone first.”

“Congratulations Michelle. That’s awesome,” I tried to hug my best friend but she pulled away from me.

She winced, “You might want to hold off on congratulating me. You might not like it when I tell you who it is. His Name is Dennis.”

“Why would I be mad at you for dating Dennis? He’s a great guy,” I said.

Michelle groaned, “Not the one from our old school. I’m talking about your Dad. I’m seeing your Dad.”

I had actually known that. I figured that out about a month ago. But I didn’t want her to know so I said, “Oh. Well, if you make each other happy then who am I to argue?”

I had come to terms a long time ago that my friend had a crush on my Dad, and more recently that they were seeing each other romantically and even sexually. It was odd to think of that last one but when I saw the excitement on Michelle’s face when I told her I accepted their relationship I could help but feel excited too.

Until Michelle asked, “Do you think you and your brother would like to go out to eat with Dennis and me in about an hour?”

“I’d love to but I don’t think I’ll be able to go anywhere and sit for long,” I told her.

She frowned, “Why, are you sick?”

“I did just lose my virginity today. And the first guy was huge. At least for me anyways. And I’m really sore. I just hope this is normal. I’d feel so embarrassed if I have to go get checked out,” I mumbled.

“Okay, that’s perfectly fine. We can wait for a different day if you’d like. And when you decide to watch that video and if you need someone there with you I can be there for you,” she said.

Shortly after Michelle left for a date with my Dad my brother Nick came to my room and sat down at my art table. He looked at me for a while. At first, I was feeling odd then a little excited.

“Hey sis, how are you doing? You don’t seem like your normal self. Normally I’d have found you at your art table making cartoons for your channel. Can I help,” he asked.

I looked away from his chiseled shirt-covered chest and said, “I’ve just been really busy lately. I don’t want to burn out. But since you offered to help, I could use some pain reliever for muscle pain.”

He smirked as he handed me the meds a few moments later, “Is there anything you’d like to tell me?” I was nervous now. Was he suspicious? Did my body language forecast that I had just had sex with two different guys? “How’s your newest cartoon? Did the mystery of the missing sandwich get solved?”

“Oh, uh, no. It hasn’t yet. But I’ll let you know when it is. I had some issues with the program so I’ll need to get my computer checked out. And truthfully I’ve also hit a bit of writer’s block.” I admitted, now relieved he wasn’t asking about my sex life.

“I can take a look at your computer. I have a few days off work coming starting tomorrow. What do you say?” Nick said.

“Oh, I almost forgot. I finished your pictures. It’s in the drawer on the left,” I pointed to the drawer.

Recently Nick had started to write a children’s book and another for older readers. And he asked me to draw the covers for both. He’s obviously going to use different names and writing styles for each. And before your thoughts get too crazy when I say for older readers I mean it’s going to still be family-friendly. I made the same mistake at first.

Nick pulled the pictures out, “Wow sis. These are amazing. I love them, thank you.”

“I love drawing mermaids, and I hardly ever get to draw dragons. But I’ve never drawn them in the same picture before so I had a blast drawing the one picture. As for the other picture, that was fun too,” I admitted.

He sat looking at the pictures for a moment then said, “You know what, I think I’ll just clear up my schedule and get to fixing up your computer today. Just give me a few moments. And before you say no, I only had things planned to just goof off. It wasn’t anything necessary. Or needed.”

I nodded and he left my room. A few moments later he was back. I think I had way too much fun watching him work on my computer. Maybe it had something to do with the tight-fitting outfit he wore. Or maybe I was still sexually excited from earlier. I wasn’t feeling guilty about my feelings towards my brother until he fixed my computer and the last picture I had been working on popped up.
