‘That was excellent,’ said Dennis, as he followed Tammy, Tara and Dylan back into the apartment. ‘I don’t know why the Willis Tower isn’t still the tallest building in the world – I just can’t believe anyone really needs a taller one!’

‘I’m worried you didn’t get the full experience, Dylan,’ said Tara. ‘To come all the way up to the Skydeck and then decide at the last moment not to step onto the glass balcony – I hope you don’t regret that later.’

‘I simply couldn’t do it,’ said Dylan.

‘I think you were very sensible, sweetie,’ said Tammy. ‘I regretted doing it the moment I went out there!’

Dylan gave her a grateful smile, then he asked, ‘Am I still in charge of our itinerary?’

‘Got it,’ said Tammy. ‘I’ve agreed to the foundation of the city of Tammyville-Taraberg. Cool, there it is.’

‘Now we just need to merge Tammyville-Taraberg with you guys’ city,’ said Tara. ‘Is it called Denton-Jackson?’

‘No,’ said Dennis. ‘We renamed it ... Double-D City.’

‘That’s a fantastic name!’ said Tammy. ‘Let’s use it for our four-way conurbation.’

‘Yeah,’ said Tara, ‘it’s so appropriate for so many reasons. Is that okay with you two?’

Dylan and Dennis found themselves incapable of making any verbal reply to this, so they both nodded their heads. Tammy and Tara tapped at their phones for a little while longer, then they abandoned the devices and placed their hands on their lovers’ shoulders.

‘The amalgamation request has been sent,’ said Tammy.

‘I’m sure we will,’ said Tara. ‘I’ll bet we do it before you guys go back to California!’
