Foreword

Many of you are familiar with A.A. Nemo, an author who has submitted a number of stories for you to enjoy on this site. The stories of Jacobs Granddaughters and Lodi Christmas are close to my heart, because I am from Lodi, California. Over the last several years, we struck up an email friendship, and he was gracious enough to allow me to add my own story to what is the growing “Lodi Universe” on SOL. If you have not done so, please read “Jacobs Granddaughters” and “Lodi Christmas” before reading this addition. Why? It lays the foundations for my own story. You will see a few familiar characters pop up. And while there is a character in his stories who is a talented musician, all we share is the name. I sing in the key of “off” and have absolutely no musical abilities. A.A. Nemo has helped me write/rewrite/edit this story, from the initial train wreck that first came out of my brain, to what you will read here. I am grateful for his help and encouragement.
