Part 3 : ‘Cop Whores... ‘
Cheyenne soon recovered from her embarrassment.
She’d been humiliated, but she was not about to dwell on what had gone wrong earlier. What was the point...?
It was a little after dark. Not quite nine o’clock.
And, she’d managed to keep a lid on what had happened.
Candice Fitzpatrick had been useful. Caught out by the policewomen at the ‘Rod Laver’ Tennis Arena, she’d been instrument in Cheyenne arranging a total news ‘blackout’ – the last thing the ‘Officer in Charge’ of the ‘Force Response Unit’ wanted, was for the ‘Victoria Police’ ‘Media Liaison Unit to know anything...
“Davina huh...?” she sighed - Constable Laura Delahuntey stood in the doorway between the lounge room and bedroom, her short-sleeved uniform shirt knotted ‘halter style’ about her waist.
Sonya Kuluzov was ‘safe’ and ‘Probationary’ Constable Cheryl Blake had done her duty.
Dominique was happy.
“We have to be discreet?” Laura suggested, brushing a few loose strands of hair from in front of her eyes with the back of her hand. Cheyenne nodded.
She’d sworn Constable ‘Lucky Phil’ O’Donoghue and ‘Trainee’ Constable ‘Bluey’ Gallagher to secrecy.
The two male police officers were partly to blame. And, both wanted nothing more to do with ‘The Black Widow’ and ‘The Melbourne Open’ Tennis Tournament,
“You have three days before the start of the tournament, Cheyenne?”
Sonya had won the ‘Kooyong Invitational’ and had no media obligations until the Melbourne ‘Open’...
“What about this Russian ‘bitch’...?” Laura asked - she had developed a dislike for Dominique almost immediately,
“Can we trust her?”
Cheyenne shrugged.
She had two female police officers ‘missing’ abducted by a hermaphrodite prostitute - Jennifer Lawson would have to deal with ‘Tennis Australia’ and Genevieve Thompson whilst she kept Sonya on the tennis court and searched for Constable Tanya McKenzie and ‘Probationary’ Constable Cheryl Blake,
“Laura...” cautioned Belinda.
Constable Belinda McIntyre appeared with Dominique and Sonya.
Constable Laura Delahuntey bit her lip...
“There will be time enough for recriminations later, constable...” the older Russian remarked.
Time was running out...?
Svetlana followed a moment later.
Constable Naomi Thompson lay sprawled over the sofa lounge.
Candice Fitzpatrick nearby – the Journalist barely conscious on the floor by the window,
“Seems, Sonya has a habit of upsetting policewomen?” Cheyenne observed.
Laura and Belinda felt guilty, of that Dominique and Cheyenne had no doubt. Red-faced with their uniform shirts unbuttoned, they’d been handcuffed to their police car when Cheyenne had responded to a call from ‘Lucky Phil’ O’Donoghue. ‘The Black Widow’ was worried. She would need to keep what happened out of the tabloid newspapers. And, with the threat of an official lesbian ‘witch hunt’ on offer, she could not let Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon nor the ‘Internal Investigations’ Unit know either.
Senior Sergeant Barry McKnight of the St. Kilda Road ‘Uniform Branch’ knew, but he had promised to say nothing and cover for the ‘missing’ policewoman. For now, it would be up to the ‘Force Response Unit’ to clean up their own mess...
“Sonya’s your responsibility, ‘Blondie’...?” announced Cheyenne finally.
Laura nodded. Belinda had already moved their clothing and toiletries into the young Russian’s room,
“You and Belinda will take care of her whilst I go after Davina?”
“Ma’am...” agreed Belinda, wearing her policewoman’s uniform shirt and a pair of dark-blue ‘Adidas’ track suit pants...
“You report to Dominique...?” Cheyenne added.
The two policewomen nodded.
‘Blondie’ and ‘Posh’ now worked for the Russian ‘Princess’ as Laura had christened her.
Constable Cassandra Johnstone was keeping an eye on things in the corridor outside,
Cheyenne’s loyal lieutenant, she had already done much of the initial legwork. Constable Naomi Thompson had been poached from the St. Kilda ‘Uniform Branch’ as well – ‘The Sheraton’ was now their impromptu ‘Command Centre’ now, based in the penthouse,
“We have to trust each other, Laura...” Cheyenne warned Laura.
‘Blondie’ nodded. In her mind, she could still see her and Belinda handcuffed to the police car with their uniform shirts unbuttoned.
Constable Laura Delahuntey blamed herself for what had happened, probably more than Constable Belinda McIntyre did...
“If anybody’s to blame for what’s happened,” Cheyenne added, “Then it’s me, Constable Delahuntey?”
“No...” disagreed Belinda.
“The person at fault is whoever’s pulling Davina’s strings, ma’am...?” suggested the English-born brunette as she moved closer to her girlfriend.
Sonya opened her mouth to speak, but for the first time in her life decided it was best not to – Dominique nodded without speaking. It was time to go to work!
Unaware of where she was, Constable Tanya McKenzie opened her eyes at last.
It seemed like a lifetime since she’d been knocked unconscious by Davina...
“Where’s the Limo...?” she heard a female voice ask,
