Chapter 4

The following morning, as it was a little cool and shady Kim had pulled on a pair of yellow slacks and cream jumper and tennis shoes and was making her way towards the pool area, when suddenly she froze in her tracks!

For just ahead, sat beside a tallish girl on a bench, was the dog she’d had sex with!

The tall girl must be the dog’s owner! Kim drew in her breath to regain her cool and decided simply to walk past naturally.

Approaching she saw the female had a short styled hair-cut, wore no make-up yet was clearly attractive in slim jeans and trainers.

As Kim passed by, Guy rose and fell into step beside her; so she stopped and looked helplessly at the owner; who responded kindly.

“No Guy!” the girl ordered as Kim hesitated,

“So sorry, it’s usually when someone has chocolate in their pocket.” apologised the girl.

“Oh I see.” replied Kim stroking the dog’s head. Looking into his big brown eyes, she said to him, “Still ... what a lovely name ... Guy.”

Then his snout poked firmly between Kim’s legs!

Kim let out a little squeak and laughed awkwardly.

The owner leaped forward and sharply pulled Guy back.

“Yes, he thinks he is one at times too.”

Then out of embarrassment, grinned saying, “Hello, are you staying at the camp long?”

“We arrived the other day. Now mother wants to spin it out for a week unless Dad calls us back home.” Kim said.

The older girl held out her hand with a smile, “ Well I’m Kate Williams what’s yours?” Kim responded, “ Kim Lavender.”

“If your headed towards the pool area I’m going that way.” said Kate as she threw a stick up the path for Guy and they began following him. “ Are you with a friend here Kim?”

“No worse luck, I tried mixing in with the locals when we arrived but I got the cold shoulder.”

Kate laughed softly and her hand rested lightly on Kim’s neck, “Don’t worry Kim, it’s not you. It just makes them feel big, pushing a new-comer away. Anyway, We can be friends if you want too?” Their walk paused.

Kim beamed at the older girl feeling a sudden sensation.

“You’d be my friend? Why your just ... so elegant!”

Kate gazed at Kim; then kissed her lightly on the lips.

“OK lets catch up with Guy!” laughed Kate and they both broke into a walk following Max.

“How old are you?” asked Kate

“fifteen,” lied Kim “ How about you?”

“Eighteen,” lied Kate “ Have you been to The Lake yet.?”

“Lake – why no; can you show me?”

“Yes it’s not far actually but its a lovely spot; come on.”

They got onto the wooded path and Guy went off ahead.

“He’s a lovely looking dog Kate. How old is he?” asked Kim

“Guy’s six now and in his prime. I love him more than anything in the world.”

They were through the woods in five minuets when suddenly the light from the lake shone out before them. Guy was there waiting with wagging tail and panting tongue.

“He’ll want to go in the water, he just loves swimming. But its not sunny enough so he wont dry off properly. There’s a bench ahead with a nice view though.

They sat side by side and Guy settled down underneath the bench.

Then they small-talked about boys. Kim admitted that apart from the odd snog at parties she’d never had a boyfriend. She’d found they could be attractive to look at but mostly nasty to talk too.

Kate, who’s arm was round Kim shoulder said she’d had a boyfriend once but it hadn’t work out. He’d been good fun sometimes but they had kept falling out over Guy. It was a jealously situation which couldn’t be solved.

They fell silent.

Kim’s hand moved onto Kate’s thigh and her lips moved close to Kate’s. Their eyes closed and their lips met softly.

They French kissed for a few minutes; their hands exploring; their pulses soaring; before a distant yell from down the lake suddenly checked their passion into self consciousness.

“Come on, said Kate, lets find a spot more private”

Hand in hand they followed Guy into the woods.
