Foreword

This story is set in the same world as my story Charley and Claire, and in the same general vicinity, just on the other side of Puget Sound. As with Charley and Claire, part of the inspiration for this story was the normalization of same-sex relationships in recent years, but in this case there are a couple of rough edges that make up part of the story.

A note on timing between the stories is in order. This story takes place a little over a month before Claire and Charley meet in the other story, but in this case the story is focused on a narrow time-frame, whereas Charley and Claire covers more than a year. If I ever get the sequel finished, it will be good to understand that Claire, Carol, Kyle and Amanda all graduate in the same year, and all have very good reasons for deciding to attend the University of Washington, Seattle.
