Foreword
The world is well aware of the human rights violations of the Islamic countries of the world when it comes to women’s rights, especially little girls and in Iran in particular. This is a fictional, and I repeat, fictional account that takes place in Iran. It is not a commentary, or a political piece meant to judge the policies of a foreign country. It is just a story. Please keep that in mind. Any connection to any real event(s) or person(s) is purely unintentional and coincidental.
Having said that, all the facts and figures are real and as accurate as I can find. I did take literary license with regards to the “marriage fair” in the plaza of the Grand Bazaar in downtown Tehran. It was simply a literary vehicle to move the plot along. Honor killings are a fact of life we see tragically all too often. As long as there is misogyny in the world, females of all ages will be persecuted, abused and murdered ... and sold under the protection of some ungodly law.
