Chapter 15: Confronting the Witch

After the storm, life had turned upside down for Minerva Bennett. A prodigy of her generation, her talent was such that she surpassed her mother even before reaching the age of maturity.

A quick learner, she had created many runes, spells, and rituals. Because of her connection with flora, it wasn’t hard for her to grow various herbs and magical plants and create different types of potions and medicine. In just a few years she earned a lot of respect—and gold.

But, all good things come to an end, and after her sister’s mistake, their fortune came to an end. Many of their friends died while protecting them from a man who had stated killing them was his life’s only goal.

After running for five years, when she was shown a chance to escape from that man forever, she knew she had to take it. So, spending all the fortune that was left, she generated another fake id, bought a house in the old town, and got admission to the same college where her target was studying. But to avoid the mistake that her sister made, she decided to use her target’s friend Erik as a tool to achieve her end goal.

Everything was going well until their date, which was after the storm. She wasn’t expecting the events to occur as they happened.

She was a strong and intelligent witch and a genius of top grade. She was the best of her kind, but had one weakness: a strong and dominant male. That was what Erik was. All her planning and talent became useless against him.

After spending the first night with him, even after taking many showers, she was still in a constant state of arousal. His words were echoing in her mind and the events of the night kept playing before her again and again. Even her magic was behaving strangely; she wasn’t sure what was happening to her.

So when she went to Erik`s house the very next night in search of her sister and to stop her from doing anything that could increase their trouble. She wasn’t expecting Erik to be alone. It didn’t take long before her body betrayed her again, and in the next few minutes, she also lost control of her mind!

She passed out from the fucking he gave her in his drawing-room. It was after a few hours she woke up from her slumber, still impaled on his penis just like the night before. This time she didn’t trust her physical strength so she tried to use her magic to separate herself from him. To her surprise her magic didn’t respond to her command; none of her spells worked. Not only did she feel physically exhausted, but her magic had also gone dormant.

Another reason to increase her fear, another reason to leave the town as soon as possible! She had also observed Erik’s strange behaviour. It was like he suddenly became dominant when it came to sex. While spending time with him on the college campus, she had never guessed he would be so aggressive in the bedroom.

After she came to know him, she had considered him a gentle giant. If it wasn’t for her situation, she would never betray a man like him.

But, she could still remember the last conversation with her sister, which didn’t go the way she was hoping for:

“Marie! Where were you last night?”

“Having some fun, of course. You know it’s been a boring week, sis.”

“You didn’t text me; your phone was off and you didn’t take the car either.”

“What’s the point sis? Why so scared?”

“Why don’t you guess, why I am so scared? Because a crazy man is hell-bent to end our lives.”

“If I had to guess why you’re so scared, I’d say it’s because you are falling for an idiot who just knows how to treat you like a cheap whore.”

“MARIE!!”

The shout from Minerva was echoing around the house, and the air around her was crackling with an energy surge. Small plants inside the house were behaving strangely. The big tree outside of the house was shaking without a hint of breeze.

It lasted for a minute before a shout from Marie brought her out of it.

Everything went to normal; the tree stopped moving, the furniture came down with a thud, all the glasses around the house shattered, and plants that had been behaving weirdly went back to normal.

Minerva fell to the ground, curled herself up, and started to cry earnestly. It was the first time she had such an outburst; even in the worst situations they had been in for the past five years, she had always been calm and composed. “I am sorry Marie ... I am sorry...” She kept chanting those words.

Marie came closer to her sister wrapped her hands around her and started to comfort her.

“Sis, what the hell happened to you?”

“Please, Marie, let’s leave this town.”

Marie had never seen her sister in such a vulnerable state, and she knew none of her arguments would work. She wanted badly to know, ‘What did that asshole do to you, sis?’ but she didn’t ask that question of her sister. She knew her sister wasn’t in any condition to answer that question. So she made a decision.

“Okay, sis, we will leave this town tomorrow.”

After that, Minerva cried herself to sleep. It was around dusk when she woke up in her bed. She took a shower and changed into a t-shirt and pyjama and was about to go start packing so they could leave the town in the morning.

A knock on the front door stopped her, ‘It must be Marie.’ With the hope of seeing her sister on another side of the door, she opened the door but when she saw her sister holding an unconscious Erik in one hand, she was shocked. After their conversation, she wasn’t expecting her sister to take such drastic action. She quickly composed herself and took her sister inside the house.

“What the...”

“Sis, listen to me. You know how important our journey here is and you know we don’t have any funds left to move from here. It’s our only chance to escape; that means we can’t back down after coming so close.”
