Chapter 2

(Basic Note: - In our community, we value everything and everyone. We are known as scrap-pickers, the one who collects junks that are un useful to others. For example, a destroyed plastic material is useless to those who can buy a new one. They throw it in a dustbin. But the same thing is useful to us because we can sell it, and earn some money for our meal. Unity and equality are our motto and we live by these rules.

Let me tell you one thing about middle-class people. When they can’t handle their own child, they abandon them. These kids either die because of starvation or wonder towards our location. Some abandoned kids are too small to come to us, so we go to them.)

As we entered the village, Seeta and Geeta were upon us. We soon realised that it was the first time we took so long to return to the village. After realising our mistake, we tried to apologize but they weren’t in the mood to forgive us. We stood where we were and listened to all they had to say. When they finished shouting at us about what should we do and what shouldn’t, they noticed Sarah.

We introduced Sarah to them and told the reason behind our disappearance. When we thought we were out of trouble, we moved towards the village kitchen, which we kid’s always use. After finishing our dinner, it was time for our gathering. So, we moved towards the village centre. Everyone thought Sarah was another teenager who’s recently orphaned. The look was priceless when they learned the truth about her origin.

Let me tell you one thing about our community:/. We hate everyone except the scrap-picker community. The reason is that they abandoned us without even an explanation. You might say that if we hate others, then why do we accept the Orphans? Because after a kid’s orphaned and left at the edge of the forest, they become one of us.

After the introductions all over they welcomed her with open arms. In further discussion they created a new plan. If they followed the plan to the letter, not only their living conditions will improve. They got the impression that they will have a spaceship to move towards another planet.

The first step was to move deeper inside the forest and clear a large area for building the spaceship. They were so eager to start the process that they wanted to start on it at once. No one slept that night. They all were packing and dismantling the hoses to move in the morning.

The next morning at breakfast, there was a discussion about the size of the ship and how to design it.”

“Skippy, I have a question?”

“What is it, Sita?”

“You know, others will watch our every movement, Won’t they confiscate everything?”
