Chapter 5
About an hour later, he heard a soft groan from the back...
‘aaaaah’... ‘rrrrr’
“Well, hello there, young lady. Rejoining humanity?”
“‘as ‘aning?” “‘as ‘oin ‘on?” “‘ehr ‘ah I?”
The man softly continued, “You’ve been asleep for about four and a half hours. You’re still in my van and we’re going for a little trip. We’ll be at our destination in about another hour or so.”
“uut? I’ or’ ‘an? Ugh. Y ‘an’t I ‘oove?”
“It was the Sprite.”
“ugh. I ‘ecked ‘ih.”
“Yes, you did. However, when I put the sleeping drugs and the muscle relaxants in, I used a needle and syringe. When I was done, I sealed the hole back up with a dab of super glue, making sure there was no bump to give it away. You know, most people only take a sip or two, not drinking the whole bottle. I put enough drugs in it to keep you out for an hour, with you only taking, at most, two sips.”
“ugh. I ‘us ‘irsty.”
He could hear her pulling at the wrist and ankle cuffs, and new she was now building up a head of steam. Shaking herself, she tried to yell out, “‘et ‘e ‘oh. ‘et ‘E ‘OH ‘IGHT ‘OW!”
Without even slowing down the van, he reached behind himself and grabbing the bulb, he spun the valve shut and pumped the bulb twice.
“‘ey! ‘op ‘at! I’ ‘e ‘ood!”
“I know you’ll be good. We’ll be home in about another hour or so, then I’ll let you loose. Promise.”
Now the man simply ignored her.
He left the highway and drove down the rural road his property was off of. Turning on to his drive, it went several hundred yards into the woods. The first building he approached was an unattached garage, with three single garage doors and one double. He kept on going past it. Next, far back in the woods was his house. It was situated on a bluff over a little lake. The entire lake was on his property, so no neighbors anywhere around, most especially, none within hearing distance.
Grabbing his phone, he used it to remotely disable the garage alarms in the attached two-car garage. Still using the remote app, he triggered the garage door closest to the rest of the house.
He swung the van around and carefully backed it in. After stopping it, he keyed the door again and it shut, the lights inside the garage lighting up the area. Since he backed in, the passenger side doors were facing the mud room entrance. Turning off the van, he got out and went around the van. Unlocking the mud room door, he disabled the interior house alarms and then went through the mud room, past the laundry room and his office. Turning to the left down the main hall, he stopped at the first door on his right, which was the pantry. Opening the pantry door, he reached in and turned on its light. Reaching past the light switch, he pushed down on a lever farther back.
Hearing the click, he stepped into the pantry and pulled on the rear shelving, which now swung open. Down the flight of stairs, which were not readily apparent from anywhere outside, he turned on the basement lights. Making sure there was nothing out of place, he opened the furnace room and reaching in, turned on those lights. Again, reaching past the light switch, he pushed down on a second little lever. Now it was the left wall that opened to a second set of stairs down. Descending into the sub-basement, he again turned on the lights and looked about himself. He was in a room now, two floors under the main house. There was a second set of well used washer and drier, a small second water-heater, and then two doors, one ahead and one to his right. The door ahead of him had a monitor mounted on the wall next to it.
He hit the main power switch next to the monitor and it turned on and warmed up. Opening that door, he stepped in, the room beyond now well lit. Inside there was a bed to the right, situated with enough room to be able to walk all the way around it. There was about 10 feet of open space before the bed, then a toilet, a bidet, a sink and a shower. Nodding to himself, he turned and ascended back up to the main house. Passing back through to the garage, he unlocked the passenger side rear doors and opened both. She had fallen back asleep and was softly snoring past the half-inflated bulb in her mouth.
