Chapter 8: Lucy’s Budding Breasts

But before anyone could add to Betsy Hayward’s last comment she carried on with, “OK ... thousands, millions, billions ... it was a bloody long time ... oops ... sorry for the swear word. It took a very long time to determine that people should walk and talk and WEAR clothes! None of the animals wear clothes and don’t give me that rubbish about their fur being clothing ... it isn’t! Dad just gave a little grunt and went back to fingering the corner of his newspaper ... in silence.

If it took all that time to stop us running around butt naked then I just think we should listen to mother nature more closely and just do what she says! I think that will prove to be a very stable moral compass to put your trust in!”

At that point Leanne Hayward stood up and declared with a yawn to everyone in the room, “Well, I think it’s mother nature that is making me very sleepy right now and ... and ... I think ...
