Angela was twelve years old when her father got a new job and they had to move away. He had never been the religious type of man in the past, but when they moved to the small town in which they now lived he became almost fanatical about the new church in the small town where they now were. It seemed like he was dragging them to church every-time the doors opened.

Angela got used to sitting in Sunday school and even became interested in the teachings. Unlike other churches she had occasionally attended, in the town she used to live in, this one had separated rooms for boys and girls. They even talked about the differences between boys and girls and occasionally, though not often, had nude lesson in which they talked about there bodies. She learned about the various parts of her anatomy.

When she turned fourteen she asked her dad about baptism and becoming a full member of the church. Several of her friends had already done so and were no longer in her Sunday school classes, having joined the adults in their class room. He agreed that she was old enough and it was set up for her to be baptized the following Sunday.

The following Sunday couldn’t come soon enough for her. She was on pins and needles the whole week, waiting for the day that she too would be baptized and become a full adult, at least in the eyes of the church. It was summertime and at her father’s instance she had spent the whole week in her room meditating on church things.

When the big day finally arrived, her father escorted her to the front of the church. Absently she noticed that only men were present in the church at the time, but it didn’t matter to her nothing was going to spoil her day. After all this was her day, her baptism. She was wearing her best shirt and shorts for the occasion and had brought along a change of clothes to put on after the baptism. After all who would want to stay in wet clothes for the rest of the church service.

Brother Johnson, the minister, eased her into the baptismal water. He said a few words over her and just before he lowered her into the water he reminded her to pinch her nose closed to prevent the water from entering her there. When he lowered her into the water she felt a strange sensation wash over her. It wasn’t anything she could describe really, she just felt free. When he raised her back up, the sensation stayed with her. It wasn’t until he helped her out of the water that she realized that she could also feel cool air all over her body. You see, unknown to her, there was a solution mixed into the water that removed all clothing and left her totally naked before everyone. She had only been told that her sins would be washed away. She had no idea that her clothes would be as well.
