Frost covered the windows.

“Pretty,” Laura said. “Might as well enjoy it because there’s a warming trend.”

I responded with “Huh?”

“Yeah,” Laura said. “Last night the weather forecast said today was going to be double digits below zero. But now they’re forecasting just a single digit below.”

“Practically a heat wave,” I said.

Laura nodded and laughed. “And I’ve got my trusty radiator to sit on. It’s very comfy. You should try it some time.”

“It warms me up just watching you,” I told her. “Especially when you’re naked.”

“Oh you like that, do you?” Laura said. I caught a naughty twinkle in her eye.

“I like it even more when you maximize the heat.”

“Why, what do you mean?” Laura asked, using her fake innocent voice.

“Naked and single digit below the belly button.”

“You mean like this?” She moved her middle finger into the heart of her heat. Then she moved her middle finger more. And more and more and more.

“So hot!” I exclaimed.

Before the heat wave was over, Laura went to double and then triple digits.
