Chapter 9

The most important point in the meeting was when Guardian showed up, blinking into existence. Big T and Amy were recording the event, and we planned to release the video afterwards.

A few of the twenty countries, because the group kept growing, represented by delegates who had done the math, and figured out their countries would have had a large portion of the five billion dead stood, and spontaneously broke out in applause.

Adele invited the delegates to ask questions, and they quickly raised their hands, then shuffled into a line.

“Guardian, how long have you been protecting Earth?” the first asked.

“Came here, made friend, decided like. Been here for short time,” Guardian said.

“Guardian, thank you for stopping the Scout Ranger. Where do you live?” the second in line asked.

“Welcome, scout crazy bad, good stop, better faster. Live here, there, mostly Mercury. Like warm. Poseidon Dominion says can live anywhere want around Sol.”

“What’s the Poseidon Dominion?” the third asked, his previous question forgotten.

“Opponent Trade Federation, declare war Trade Federation until make restitution with Earth for attack.”

“Why did they do that?” he continued.

“Some Poseidon Dominion Earth people, don’t like home attacked.”

That brought pandemonium to the crowd. The questions started being shouted by everyone, so Guardian looked at me, and I shrugged, “Thank you friend,” he told me, and then disappeared.

I stepped up, “If there are any other questions, that I might be able to answer?”

“How are humans part of the Poseidon Dominion?” seemed to be the general consensus question they wanted answered first...

“They were offered the opportunity to go into space. There’s an outpost on Mons Olympus, Mars where a number of them live and work building a base for humanity’s expansion,” I explained.

“Is Zukunft Zuerst part of the Poseidon Dominion?”

“We are loosely affiliated. The Dominion selected my company for this technology introduction because of previous contact.”

“Are you the friend that Guardian mentioned?” the fifth asked.

“I believe so. Guardian either doesn’t have a very good translator, or his language is very limited in pronouns.”

“How long ago did you meet Guardian?”

“There are certain things I’m restricted from talking about, I’d like to leave those subjects for now. Are there questions about the generators?”

“Where will the generators come from?” the fourth asked.

“From what has been communicated, the Poseidon Dominion acquired them for Earth,” I explained.

“Is that really one of them? How is it possible that something that small produces 5 gigawatts?”

“I’m giving you a copy of a translated book that explains the science behind it, but personally I don’t understand it, yet. It unbends spacetime, and generates electricity.”

“Does it produce radiation, need any shielding, get hot?”

“No, no, and no. It does get very heavy when you turn it on, so it needs a very solid foundation. The on switch is currently padlocked to the off position, but if you walk around to the control side, I can explain the controls,” I told them.

“Before turning on, the control knob here will allow you to turn to select the voltage. The options run from 12 volts to 10,000,000 volts. This switch selects AC or DC output, I know that some of you might place this best by feeding power into a DC high voltage transmission system.”

The Japanese Ambassador had an electrical engineer with him who nodded in agreement. Seeing the point made, I continued.

“The system will automatically match the frequency and synchronize with any system it is connected to, but it should be preset to one of any frequency available on this dial, it ranges from 2 to 900 hz. Once preset it will actively work to keep the section of the grid it is attached to in sync with the preset frequency.

“This last switch controls three phase or single phase output. When we look at the back I’ll explain the wiring setup.”

“Finally, once turned on, these settings will lock, and can not be adjusted while running. There is a padlock attachment for both the off and on positions, so be aware of security requirements to prevent tampering, accidents, and mischief,” I finished, then walked around to the other side.

“Here there are 10 outputs. You will notice that each output is actually three cables, extending out from a yellow circle. Each group of three in the three phase power mode will be the three carrying cables, totalling 500 megawatts at whatever voltage it is outputting at. In single phase mode, each cable carries one third of the 500 megawatts, in a synchronized waveform.”

I stepped back as they examined the machine. The Japanese engineer asked me, “Can it produce both 50 and 60 hz from different outputs?”

“No. I asked about setting it for 55Hz, and letting it auto match to synchronize, but that was highly discouraged. Auto matching is limited to within just a few Hertz of the preset. The device is designed to provide a set, stable and constant power for base loads.”

“So what happens when you turn it on?” asked one of the delegates.

“It makes power, and it gets heavier.”

“Really? How heavy?”

“It goes from 2 tons to 1200 tons,” I looked around, but no one was paying attention, “one last thing, and this is important!” I said, drawing their attention back to me.

“I know I said this already, but when running, the generator gets heavier, this requires a strong foundation under it. It goes from 2 tons to 1200 tons, almost instantly. Excessive shaking, or any other movement makes it shut off, but it takes a while for it to get light again. Make sure you do not put it anywhere but on properly reinforced concrete, preferably on top of bedrock. If you put it in the upper floor of a building it is going to come crashing thru the floor. If it disappears under the mud because there was no foundation, you’ll have to dig down to turn it off, before you can try to lift it out.”

They chuckled at that, so I nodded to Tiffany who handed out the book on the way it worked, and the instructions on how to build the foundation, and connect it to their country’s system. There was also very specific instructions on how to contact us to specify delivery location.
