Chapter 2: Parental Advice

My father was right, everything was going to be alright. But that would take some time.

While I waited for him, my emotions were still raw. I did try to keep myself busy by playing games, but my mind kept bombarding me with plenty of questions.

‘What did I do wrong?’ was the chief among the questions I kept asking myself.

Unfortunately, none of them were the right ones to ask. I don’t know why I didn’t blame Tiffany right away. Sounds weak right? But that happened, I blindly trusted her too much to think she would do anything to hurt me. And, looking back, that was my true mistake in our relationship.

Flashes of our time together kept reminding me of the good that I was going to miss, and because of this, I cried. Yeah, I cried a lot. It was the only thing I can do in such an irrational state of mind.

“How are you doing, son?” my father asked me as soon as he returned to my room. I couldn’t answer him, my mind was still too busy with thoughts of self-pity and self-blaming to even process an accurate answer.

“Ok, one-word answer time!” he announced, sitting in front of me. This was an exercise my father created back when my vocabulary wasn’t extensive enough for me to express myself. I guess he felt it would help me process what I was going through. “How are you feeling?”

“Terrible,” I automatically answered the first feeling that popped into my mind.

“That can’t be all. What else?” he asked continuing with the exercise.

“Angry,” I said.

“With whom?”

“Myself,” I answered.

“Why? What did you do?” he asked me the exact question I was failing to answer.

And I continued to do so and just looked down.

“Son, look at me,” he told me, putting his right hand on my chin to lift my head. “Think really hard. I know you can answer me. What did you do?”

Somehow, his emphasis on the question started clearing my mind. I kept going through everything that transpired between me and Tiffany for the past few months. Nothing I did warranted her betrayal. But unfortunately, I didn’t know how long her cheating on me had been going on, so I looked back till the very beginning and still I found nothing.

“Nothing,” I finally answered.

“Elaborate,” my father requested, figuring I was ready to talk.

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” I said. “We hardly even had fights. I thought we were happy together. Well, she certainly used to make me happy. I thought I did too. I know we have been growing distant the past few months, I just blamed the fact that we- I was too busy with my studies.”

At that moment of realization, a mixture of sadness and anger hit me once again. ‘We did so much together,’ I thought, ‘We shared so many moments. And now I feel that I don’t even know her. All that I feel for her now is based on her betrayal and lies. She humiliated me. Why did she do this?’ The right question finally popped up in my mind.

“Son, you must always remember to learn from the bad things that happen in your life, not just the good,” he told me as if he read my mind. “I know that your mother and I have lectured you on this plenty of times. But you are young, you still have a lot to experience. We only ask you to never forget that, when we can, we’ll be there for you.”

“Thanks, dad.” I smiled at him.

“So, what do you want to do about this?” he asked me.

“Well, I’ll obviously break up with Tiffany,” I answered plainly. “A part of me wants to make her feel like I feel, the other wants to move on and never see her again. All that I know is that I can never trust her again.”

“Truth be told, son. You were no longer in a trusting relationship from the moment she decided to do what was best for her.” He sighed and then continued. “Your mother and I saw the signs of you two breaking up, but we never thought Tiffany would do something like this.” He confessed with a sad expression on his face. “I am quite sure that she made her decisions on her own. Let me guess, she even convinced you not to study together anymore. You two could always see each other over the weekend and even then, she bailed on you with some sorry-ass stupid excuses more than a few times.”

I nodded, confirming to him his assumptions were right.

“I’ll tell you one thing though once your mother finds out about this; Tiffany will never be welcomed in this house again.”

“You got that right,” my mother stated from the entrance to my bedroom. She then came over to me and gave me a hug. The kind of hug that only mothers can give, it warmed me up inside. For over a minute we stayed hugged, and I cried again throughout that whole emotional moment. “Son,” she started speaking with me and wiping the tears from my face. “Sweetheart, can you tell me what happened? I promise I won’t go full nuclear. Right now, this isn’t about her, it’s about you. I- We want to help you through this.”

I told her everything from the fact that I originally was worried about Tiffany’s failing grades and that she wasn’t telling me about it, to going through her computer. I then showed her all 15 files that I recuperated. Oh, my mom got quite angry a couple of times. After watching the videos, she went back and forth between texts and photos. To my utter dismay, she asked me to play the last video again, promising me that there was a really good reason for this.

“Stop!” she ordered after the video played for only 3 seconds. “I know you two are not in the right state of mind, so I’ll forgive you. But you geniuses missed something.”

My father and I looked at the still frame trying to figure out what my mother was talking about. All I could see was my girlf- Tiffany riding her professor with pleasure printed all over her face. My heart broke once again, and I couldn’t look anymore. Noticing the expression on my face, my mother told me, “Be strong, my son, I am confident that you’ll see it. Press play and pay attention!”

I resumed playing the video, trying the best I could to be strong. Three times I watched Tiffany bounce on her teacher’s cock, each time she landed was like another dagger being plunged into my heart. That’s how long it took me to find what my mother wanted me to.

“The camera is moving,” I said then stopped the video mid-fourth bounce. “They aren’t alone!”

“Good,” my mother said with a proud smile. “Well, I am off to bed early,” my mother made a production of yawning, kissed my forehead, then headed for the door. “You two better have a good plan in the morning.” At the door, she turned to my father. “Ah, honey, you’ll be sleeping on the couch tonight. Good night.”

The bewildered expression on dad’s face made me chuckle for the first time since I decided to snoop on Tiffany’s computer.
