Chapter 4

It was 1964 and on her 14th birthday Dan had taken Janet to town for some West End shopping.

Their relationship had ripened over the past year even though Dan no longer shared Janet’s bedroom. As agreed with Margot, he’d converted the garden shed into his personal den, which was now also his sleeping quarters. Margot always knew where to find Janet if she went missing during the evenings before her bedtime.

The pair loved sharing things together so the train trip into swinging London was special for them both. They mingled with the city’s hedonistic crowds, holding hands and eventually becoming foot weary together.

They lunched in a large cafeteria and such was the din, even had a job hearing what the other were saying. It was all very exciting and eventually Janet got to choose a fashionable new dress along with a couple of snazzy accessories.

When the sales lady had paraded her in front of Dan wearing the mini-dress outfit complete with high heels, it had made Janet feel so sophisticated and sexy. And she knew that Dan had felt proud of her too by the look on his face and the bulge in his trousers!

On the way home with the shopping goodies, Dan said, that when seeing her modelling the outfit in the store, he felt she could easily pass for being sixteen!

Janet was thrilled but squealed delightfully that it was impossible!

Dan was adamant; and Just to prove it, Dan said he would take her to the cinema in the outfit before long, to see an adult film, where you had to be over 16 to get in!

Again, Janet squealed with delight at the idea; of going out at night!

And anyway, how could they get passed Mother doing that! The whole idea was just crazy and wild, but Janet was just in love with Dan for suggesting it!

Margot believed it was a local church rehearsal the pair were setting off to that evening; but she wasn’t really interested because Raymond would be calling later to take her to see a sexy movie.

The bus the pair caught dropped them near The Troxy cinema in the centre of town. During the bus ride Janet had discreetly slipped into her new stilettos and dabbed on make-up. Dan’s cock cranked just watching her and realised she was unadulterated jail-bait for any other man; but not him.

A Dad had to guard his daughter from that vile sort of man.

He took her hand as she got from the bus and then she put her arm through his as they strolled along. In the dark they were just another courting couple out on a date?

Occasionally though Dan was aware of a glance, as if they were an odd pair but then Dan caught sight of a bright city tavern pub,

“Well, I think we’ve time for a drink in The Crown before the movie starts Janet. “ Dan suggested.

“Oh, go into a pub, that’s so cool! Janet enthused.

“Come on then, and just act like its normal for you; ok.” laughed Dan.

Inside, The Crown was warm and busy, and playing loud on the jukebox was The Beatles singing ‘She Loves You!’

Dan felt great as he seated Janet at a vacant table and went to the bar.

He ordered: “ A large gin & tonic and a tonic and lemon slice for the girl.”

Both drinks looked the same in the glass and at the table he handed Janet the gin and tonic.

“Just sip it slowly OK?”

“OK I will,” she giggled, sipping the strong gin.

Then taking in her surroundings she sipped again saying to Dan, “Just fancy, I’m on a night out; in a pub with my man! None of my school friends have ever done that!”

For a moment Dan wondered if she was sincere in what she’d said, but then her eyes had met his and he realised she was sincere.

That this was her first real date.

That’s how it felt for Dan too and he had the best girl in the world.
