Chapter 3
Time, it’s a funny thing, not the Ha, Ha funny, but the strange, weird kind.
You all have heard the saying, ‘It’s not over, till it’s over’. The Scottish, ‘Gang Aft Angley’(Things often go wrong) is perhaps more applicable. The terms ‘UN-intended consequences’ are inherent in all the actions, planned or not, we do. So was this ‘last ditch effort’ of Mr. Black; who better to begin at the beginning, than he who caused this mess; Right?
Actually he did not start it, merely caused it.
Time has no master and he who deems himself in control is generally not. You all have heard of ‘in due course, I’m certain. Like that Spaniard, Don Quixote, Mr. Black was tilting at windmills; real or imagined, it mattered not.
That ‘Butterfly Effect’ was in-play today when he laid out his ‘Grande Plane’ to stop the curse. It had taken more than a thousand years, the lives of many men and countless years of angst and suffering but now it could end.
It did, Sam ended it, as clean and smooth as a 50 year old single malt whiskey, she started it. She merely said ‘NO’ to become his wife, bear his offspring or otherwise pursue this insane quest. She had discovered the cause of the curse.
The cause was she. She cursed him and the day her children were fated to journey on such a quest. It was his coming back again that put an end to it. Perhaps not doing the same thing CAN lead to different results after-all.
