Poem Story: Depression. Feeling like the old you, is long gone. I turned this one into a song a long time ago for myself. I hope everyone likes it.

Remember when I’d dance in the rain?
Laughing loud, no sense of shame.
My world was bright, painted gold,
Every story a song, every hug a hold.
But then the skies turned a dark grey,
A thief came and took my light away.
At just nine, my laughter turned to cries,
Now I’m staring at a shadow, lost in disguise.
I’m a shell of the girl I used to know,
Where did my innocence go?
Once a canvas of colors, now only black,
Every smile’s a mask, I can’t take back.
I remember the nights under twinkling stars,
Singing loud with my sister using air guitars.
We’d sing our hearts out, no worries on our minds,
But the melody faded, left me so far behind.
The music stopped, silence fell hard,
Painted so vibrant, now I’m just scarred.
I wear my sadness like a worn-out gown,
Searching for a way to turn this around.
