The Dragonpit,
King’s Landing
“Theon, I have your sister. If you don’t submit to me now, I’ll kill her,” Euron warned Theon before anything could be revealed.
Before he could speak further or anyone could respond, Theon Greyjoy stood and lunged at his uncle, Euron Greyjoy, seeking to hide his fear by an act of cruelty. Euron stood and met his sword with his own, at which point, Cersei and Dany both tried to pull them back. Instead of complying, the two Greyjoys attacked each other.
Ser Jaime Lannister then drew his sword and seized the opening to cut Euron down himself, not wishing to let Theon get the opportunity. Between the two of them, Euron was stabbed seven times and fell dead upon the ground. The King of the Iron Islands was slain.
Furious, Cersei turned to the Mountain, Ser Gregor Clegane, telling him, “Slay both Ser Jaime and Theon!”
The Mountain then grabbed Theon and threw him across the Dragonpit, hurling him to his death now. Theon’s broken body lay there in silent testimony that House Greyjoy was all but extinct now. When he went for Ser Jaime, though, the Hound blocked him, standing directly in his path. The truce was broken. It was open war to the end now.
Ser Jaime assailed the Mountain from one end, even as Sandor Clegane attacked him from the other. Qyburn reached out to try to somehow stop what these two men had in mind. It was not only useless, but fatal for him, because just then, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater emerged and sliced the man open with his sword. The Master of Whispers was killed quite brutally, mostly because Ser Bronn blamed him for nearly getting himself killed with those scorpions.
Dany had enough. She called upon Drogon.
“Dracarys,” she cried out, causing the last dragon that she had to belch fire at Lannister guards now.
Meanwhile, Tyrion rushed at his own sister, Cersei, drawing a dagger and thrusting directly into her breast. Stunned, Cersei reached out with her hands and began squeezing the life out of Tyrion. Jon pulled the Imp off Cersei and out of her grasp at last, delivering him from certain death.
Cersei cried out in terror and pain, distracting Ser Jaime enough that the Mountain was able to focus on the Hound. Ser Gregor struck Sandor repeatedly on the face, threatening to kill him with his bare hands. Brienne suddenly stepped forward and dug Oathkeeper into the Mountain from behind. Podrick Payne also attacked him with a sword, and now Ser Gregor faced four foes at once.
Ser Jaime, meanwhile, looked down at Cersei and saw only a traitor, not a lover or sister. She had betrayed him too many times now. He felt incredible rage rise up within him and he reached down to squeeze the life out of his twin. Jaime began choking his own sister, his lover, his Queen, the mother of his children, to death.
Cersei felt a shiver down her spine as she fought her own brother to stay alive ... the prophecy. The valonqar ... it wasn’t Tyrion, after all. It was Jaime. Her Jaime had betrayed her, just as Lancel had. Just as the High Sparrow had. Just as Uncle Kevan had. Just as Robert Baratheon had. She could scarcely believe it.
