It was just Dan, Krista, and Lisa in the old music room today. Mia was off selling the idea of Dan being their fuckboy to her fellow cheerleaders. Greg was with Cara munching her pussy.

Carla had a cold. Not everyone could be doing something exciting.

“So, what did you find out, Lisa?” Dan said.

“Working from Greg’s information, I followed Cara to Nora.”

Krista sat next to Dan on the couch and told him, “Nora doesn’t go to classes. She’s already passed all her courses. She just goes to the after-school clubs.”

“She also helps students cheat,” Lisa added.

Lisa knelt on the floor as she gave them her report. She had gotten really into this spy thing. She enjoyed skulking about and watching the bullies.

Dan didn’t bother telling her to get up. If that is what she liked doing, then more power to her.

“I need to get into one of these classes,” Dan said.

“Do you really have the time for that? You are already joining the cheerleaders.”

“I won’t actually be doing anything when I join, other than fucking them.”

“Still...”

“Who else will do it? Lisa and Carla need to stay under the radar to watch them. Cara is not the type to accept Greg spending time on anything other than her; and you, I need you looking at things from above. It’s best you keep your distance from the ring leaders.”

“I guess you’re right. But you can’t get into any of the clubs. You’re too new.”

“We could ask Jason or Red.”

“Red! That’s one of the rainbow girls, right? Wow!” Lisa stood up from the floor to bounce on her feet.

“Tell me about this sorority.”

“I guess now’s a good time. It will help you understand the clubs.”

Dan settled in on the couch for Krista’s explanation. So did Lisa, though she must have already known about all of this.

Krista got up and stood before them like a teacher. “The sorority is where the cult makes connections with young female and hopefully male minds. They provide facilities for research and study. Most of it is history, but a lot is theory development.”

“That tells me nothing. This school could be said to do the same thing.”

Krista shook her head. “This school provides prime candidates for the sorority. Masons High gives them good stones for the sorority to polish. The skills learned at the sorority give women what they need to go to other parts of the cult.”

Dan, still didn’t get it. Lisa helped. “High school students can’t do the sex stuff outright.”

“It’s not like that,” Krista whined.

“But it does make more sense. The sorority is a way to avoid prying eyes. Schools are under stricter regulations,” Dan said.

“Well, OK, maybe it’s a little like that.”

“So, the clubs at the school are the softcore version of the sorority. Once through the hardcore stuff, they can do the cult business. This is all a bit much for an alternative feminist movement. And if I’m being honest, the cult has a reputation.”

“One they don’t deserve. We just don’t subscribe to the mainstream feminist movement.”

“Describe mainstream.”

“That men are at fault for everything. That we are fundamentally oppressed throughout history. That men rule the world.”

“But don’t we though?”

“Yes. But only in certain degrees.”

Dan actually found this engaging. He rarely heard people speak different views. Most were afraid of being socially destroyed if they said the wrong thing.

“It’s like this. So, both feminist movements agree men are in control and that can be bad. But how should we deal with it? Their way is taking down that system. Our way is reforming it,” Krista said.

“They don’t like that men would still be in power in a reformed system,” Lisa said from beside Dan. “We think it benefits women to have men in charge. Let them do all the dying by the millions in wars. They got on top for a reason. It’s cause they want it enough to die and kill for. I don’t. Women don’t.”

Dan thought otherwise, women murdered for power all the time, just on a smaller scale. If anything, this cut-throat school disproved Lisa and Krista’s arguments. But he was a guy, what did he know.

“I guess this is where the man worshiping sex stuff comes in,” Dan said.

“Yes, but I can’t talk about it with you. You work for the cult but are not a part of it. Sorry.”

“No problem. This is a job. I just need money.”

Krista’s face flattened in disappointment. Dan didn’t mean to insult her. He wanted no part in the cult other than to get paid by them. And while some of their views interested him, other parts of their ideology freaked him out.

He didn’t want men in power. People like his dad should be replaced by women. That, and the scope of the cult that was led by women proved that women in power could be for the best, if the bullying could be removed.

He sighed. It was all just so odd. He felt he was missing something in her explanation that could help him understand. Maybe all his mainstream thinking was stopping him from really hearing her out.

A voice from the P.A system echoed into the room. The principal wanted to see Dan in her office.

Krista and Lisa looked to Dan, faces full of worry. Dan hadn’t seen the principal since coming to the school. He’d heard little about her.

Dan headed to the door but turned back to address the worried girls. “It’s not like I did anything wrong.”

When he closed the door and entered the hallway, he thought, when had that ever mattered?

Ms. Kingsly’s office was as severe as her features. A utilitarian desk with piles of orderly papers surrounding a laptop. The walls had no pictures, nor did her desk. Other than the chair—that he tried to sit on before being asked to stay standing—the filing cabinet in the corner was all that decorated the room.

Dan had tried to speak several times, but a glare from the principle kept him silent. He had begun to tap his feet and fiddle with his idle hands.

Then Ms. Kingsly stopped her typing and closed her laptop. She laced her fingers together and stared at him with hard eyes. “You may sit now.”

“Why am I here? Have I done something wrong?”

“What do you think of our school?”
