Chapter 5

Scott was doing primarily three activities during the summer months of fishing, narrating audiobooks and working on his second book. He was at the stage in writing his second book that the outline was done and he was starting to dictate the story. Outside of doing those activities he would occasionally visit the casino for dinner and a little gambling. Because of the summer crowds he was trying to avoid going into the Dells.

His cellphone buzzed and he saw it was a call from Lynn Reynolds, the attorney who handled his divorce.

“Hi Lynn, how are things going?”

“Things are going fine with me but I thought I would call you and tell you about an interesting conversation I had.”

“What’s that?”

“On another case of mine I was talking to the attorney who was defending the case your ex-wife brought against the bank for wrongful termination. He told me it had progressed to where they were taking her deposition. Doing that they asked her if she had seduced Prescott or ever said she seduced him. She said she had never said anything like that and in fact it was just the opposite as he had seduced her. They then asked her if she enjoyed having sex with him or ever said she did. She denied ever saying that and repeated that he was forcing her to do it or she would lose her job. They reminded her that she was under oath and she again denied ever saying anything that they had asked her about saying.”

“They then broke the news to her that they had a telephone recording of her telling you that had her making those statements. Her attorney objected saying there was a conflict in the law between the two States as to the permission need to record conversations. Since this suit was for something that happened in Illinois, Illinois law would apply and they couldn’t introduced the recording. The attorney said he didn’t need to introduce it as you would be willing to testify about making a recording of a conversation you had with her in which she said those things and bragged about having this long term affair with the bank’s President.”

“Her attorney then asserted spousal privilege which would bar you from testifying since you two were still married at the time of recording this conversation. Finally they broke the news to her about having a video they offered to play it for her which she declined. They told her of the explicit things it showed her doing as well as what she said when she was having sex with Prescott. This attorney told me she called you a fucking son of bitch and stormed out of the office. He said the following week her attorney filed to dismiss the lawsuit. I thought you would want to know this.”

“Thanks for telling me and I thought I would never say this but it brightens my day to hear that Diane got fucked and not in the way she wanted,” said Scott. When the call ended he had a smile on his face that wouldn’t go away.

Because of a weather front which had moved in the temperature later in the day had dropped. It was now cooler and it was raining with thunder being heard in the distance. Scott was debating what to prepare for dinner when he heard his doorbell chime. Opening the front door he saw Dana standing there holding an umbrella over her head and wearing a rain coat.

He invited her inside to get out of the rain and asked her what brings her here.

She didn’t answer him but with her back to him she put down the folded umbrella and in turning around the rain coat slid from her shoulders down her arms to the floor. She proudly stood there completely naked wearing only some high heel shoes looking at him and not saying anything. He took in the erotic picture she was presenting to him of her pretty face, nice sized breasts, small waist, flat stomach and womanly hips. He also noted that she had reduced the amount of pubic hair he had seen the last time he was with her.

After what was close to a half a minute she said, “I am single and free because the divorce is final. Do you know how good that feels to be able to say that I am free and now I can be with you and do what I want? I think you have a pretty good idea of what I want to do now.”

She walked up to a stunned Scott and put her arms around him and gave him one torrid open mouth kiss. He was quick to react with his arms going around her and returning the kiss.

Ending the kiss Scott tried to ask her about the divorce but she said she would tell him later. She said they should now just to go to the bedroom because she wanted to make up for lost time. Scott was of no mind to argue and went with her slipping his golf shirt up over his head and unbuckling his belt. She reclined on the bed and he immediately joined her after stepping out of his pants and shorts.

Dana was not big on foreplay because she quickly moved down and mouthed his shaft. She was good in giving him head while at the same time her cool hand was massaging his testicles. He told her he was getting ready to cum which only caused her to increase her efforts. He did cum and she was able to swallow it all. She moved up to cuddle with him and gave him a kiss with a lot of tongue.

Cuddling with his arms around her Scott asked her what had happened to finalize the divorce.

“Debra’s investigator found where Peter hid some assets he didn’t disclose on the papers he filed in court. That was enough for Debra to get his attorney to agree to what she had proposed in the way of a settlement. I get to keep the house and my business and he gets seventy five percent of our investments. I consider that to be a win-win for me. Now with that being said how about you making love with me again. I love it when you put your stiff friend in me because it curdles my toes.”

With a little oral help from Dana he did do her again and was pleasantly surprised when she told him she was now protected which negated the need for early withdrawal.

Since she was now divorced Scott was seeing Dana just about every other day. Going out for dinner, ordering in pizza, purchasing a bucket from the Colonel or visiting the casino along with just watching television were some of the things they did. She surprised him when she went fishing with him and told him she enjoyed doing it. The majority of the times when they were together the evening would end with them making love.

Scott’s second book which he named “Confronting the Deep State,” was now finished and he forwarded it to the publisher. After the book was published it did not receive any free publicity from the various media hosts who were sent gratis copies. The publisher put some advertisements on television and along with some favorable book reviews, it resulted in this book making the best seller list. Scott was asked to go on a book tour which he did as well as making an appearance on a late night television show and on a few local television and radio stations.

Back at home after this tour ended Scott started to think about a story line for his next book. This one he thought would center on delivering justice to the manufacturers and distributors of drugs in our as well as other countries. A rouge CIA operative, a police chief and some border patrol agents were among some of the people who were monetarily benefiting from this drug operation and would be dealt with. The working title of this book was “Instant Justice.”

Scott’s success with his books was translating into a considerable amount of money he was receiving from the publisher. How to invest these funds was causing him to think long and hard about how to do it. The stock market was one option and while a good portion of the funds would go there, he thought he needed to be further diversified. He spoke with Dana since he thought she must at times see various types of properties that would be good investments.

Dana didn’t know of anything that she would consider to be a “Hot” right now but she thought that land itself was always a good investment. She said she knew of some farmland that was listed at a fair price which consisted of one hundred and five acres and was located close to the exit of the interstate highway. Sooner or later she said someone is going to want to build on that land and until that happens she said the land can be leased out for farming.

Scott gave some thought to what she said and since she was the professional he thought, “Why not?” He told her to make an offer to purchase it. Two weeks later he was told he was the owner of this land.

Things were going good for Scott in his life and now he had plans he hoped that would make them even better. Kneeling on one knee he proposed to Dana. She seemed genuinely surprised and accepted his proposal.

The both agreed that the marriage should be small and soon. Debra made the arrangements for Judge Sonia Sanders to perform the ceremony in her chambers.

Dana and Scott flew to Las Vegas for a seven day honeymoon. They saw a few shows, visited many of the hotels on the strip and did some sightseeing. The sightseeing included taking a drive to the Grand Canyon and once there a helicopter tour of it.

Where to live was a subject of discussion. Dana wanted to live in her house and Scott in his house. Eventually they compromised on the issue with Dana selling both houses and they purchased a relatively new well-constructed house that was located on a bluff overlooking the Wisconsin River. This house gave them a scenic view of the river and came with two acres of land. At a lower end of this land Scott had a variety of fruit trees planted and there is also a vegetable garden.

Bordering their new home was a twenty acre parcel of land consisting largely of evergreen trees and a five acre spring fed pond. Scott asked Dana to see if she could purchase this property. He wanted to stock the pond with fish in order to have his own private fishing hole. Dana was successful and when the purchase was completed Scott sent Walt an e-mail and photos of this property telling him what his plans are and extended an invitation for him to visit if he is ever back in the area.
