Chapter 9
When they got there 2 FBI attempted to detain Marty, and Tom and Arron came unglued both were put down and a 50 cal. opened upon the gaggle of alphabets but didn’t hit anyone and disarmed all and Tom called someone on the phone asking for the Head of the DOD. He told them they would take the call which he did. Two minutes later they disbanded and 2 were cuffed. Tom was told only by Potus was he to be bothered. He asked about the 50 and was told Arron was mad. He told Tom to apologize for him and it would not happen again. Tom said for his sake that he hoped the boys were not mad.
The two came in to find out about food and Linda asked, “Nice going guys what’s next?” Tom looked at Marty grabbed Linda and gave her a big kiss. Carol and Marty were shocked not knowing anything.! Linda nodded to Marty and he did the same thing. Tom asked when was dinner and was told maybe tomorrow and the two turned up the hall. Tom said nice now we have to find food. Marty said he didn’t do it and Tom said it sure wasn’t him, and they both laughed, the girls were shocked.
The two went to the library and one of the girls brought them coffee. Tom asked Marty what was next? Let’s ask Steve where Mary is heading and then start on the boat venture. That could add a lot of work for people and make the ports safe. I think we need to talk to the skyline to produce more Fury II’s for taking people to the oil rigs safely and for doing repairs with larger subs. Been in 45 ft seas with that boat it’s safer than a helicopter! We only counted the major ports. We probably need that many boats in small ports and the major rivers also the great lakes. These could be the next must-have. Get some of the steel parts and plants producing and start pulling the basics together most won’t be fancy and will go quicker also more electronics for the crews. Tell Ron to start buying what we want and need. Tom said, not my job, bout time you went back to work. Marty said, “SPOIL SPORT”. Steve was called to be at dinner and they hoped that Mary would come too.
Ron and Andrea came in and Tom smiled and knew he was in for it. Marty grabbed Ron and the next 2 hours was Marty’s. Tom sat with Tim and Vickie and the new people. He said he heard rumors about finding 200 items this afternoon. The new people were shocked that the boss knew. He thanked them and said a good job! Steve and Mary came in and he moved on. Tim showed Vickie the note and she thanked him, Tom told Steve about the finds due to the software and he stopped over. Mary said okay Boss what’s up? Tom said that the boat manufacturing was to start up as soon as possible. Outside contractors, or employees, insurance, salaries, outside companies to supply us. Get with Jill and Linda and make it happen, 3 ½ billion in 3 years easy. She said, “WOW, okay boss Ron will need help, supplies, warehouse, a place to build them, do what you can and get all the help you need.” Linda walked up and I asked her if we had enough cash. She said about 4 billion give or take a hundred million. Mary swallowed and said I guess we are good to go. She went and found Steve. Linda asked was Marty serious with Carol? I said ask him I don’t know. Boy did that knock the wind out of her sails. Shocked me too! Never seen him like that. EVER. I told her about the conversation with Mary and Marty and he had Ron for almost 2 hours. Ha-Ha. Are we going to be okay with this? She said no problem she knew it was coming, just not when! Marty came to Linda and asked if she could get 700 million to cover the boats. If not we can sell some to cover what we need. She said she could cover it. He said he needed a drink and was told to see Carol. I wasn’t sure it was a good idea! Tom asked how thirsty are you? He left.
He came back with soda in one hand and Carol’s in the other. Linda looked and I said guess he was really thirsty; she just shook her head. I asked Marty about Ron. he’s all ready to go. Where? South Georgia, North Florida (Jacksonville Area} a port for material and transportation, plenty of welders shipyards which is slow now. Land supply (Atlanta) big east supply depot, everything we need. Start buying electronics but don’t ship yet to Florida. We want an edge. Have you picked out the first one off the line? Yes! Plus I need 3 Fury II’s plus I need 2 from Skyline to ship with them. I will handle that! Oh yeah! Take the day off we start tomorrow. Do I say yes boss? Marty said already know not needed and got two arm smacks. I from Linda and the other from Marty’s “dam kid”.
A call went to Ft. Lauderdale. And I told them I need three 92’ Furys stripped asap. He wasn’t sure the ability to be done that fast. Tom told him either he does or we will! He got the point Tom got off the phone and told Marty that we may have to buy Skyline before this is over. Marty said, “Oh Well do what you must.” Carol asked Linda was she talking a million dollars and she said no! They stopped using the “m” word about mid-year. Their talking multiple “B” word. This project is 2.1 billion dollars and she said “OMG” and Linda said that’s the name of the company, Oceanic Mechanical Geniuses net worth around 8 billion dollars. And the boys own it outright, around 5 billion in cash in the banks and I’m holding his hand I think he likes you, Linda.
Mike was asked to put up some precut slab homes for Tim, Vickie, And people at the house, Carol’s daughters and the help. Do 10 and let them pick. We don’t care! Tie them in with the vault area so the winter won’t bother them. Two crews were put on them and they were finished quickly. Ron started to buy in most major cities and storing them there, He figured finishing the boat and transporting the basic hulls, then adding the electronics, sub, sonar, depth indicators, side thrusters. Monitors, radios, computers, the works, plus a skiff. Most were 74 to 78 ft. so they could move in port areas. Good to 270 ft on a dime, dual power, 2 and 3 story! Due to the location to get around safely could do almost any repair work on cable, connectors even some outside ship repairs. Ron set up warehouses in most ports so quick repairs could be done. By now we owned most of the part companies. No matter where the parts were they were the same for the repair. If the manufacturer changed the parts no one dealt with them. It didn’t take long to hold a standard. We had to split the division to manufacture and then supply the parts. Mary was tied in at New York due to parts and supplies. The gas companies in New Jersey was almost 10 times the size and billing of New York. Carl stepped into a gold mine with the repairs. We bought the dock and gave it back to Nick to take care of and also the other one! The Fury’s were moved from there and only the small ones were stored there. Easy access to the harbors.
