Chapter 16: Doctors Are Assholes
Nov 1st, 2018
So today I was supposed to receive the test results from my EEG and by 3:00 pm I had heard nothing. Nada. Zip. Knowing the clinic closes at 4:00 pm. I was preparing to call them, but my wife beat me to it. She finds out they had no intention of giving me my results today. I had to wait until my next regular appoint which is Dec. 5th.
My wife reminds them the doctor had told us that we were to be scheduled for an earlier appointment due to the seizures and the tentative appointment date was Nov. 7th. This was discussed over a week ago and we had called two days ago and still not received confirmation of that appointment.
Believe it or not, the asshats had not even attempted to schedule an appoint for me until today and now my earliest appointment time is Nov. 28th. Three fucking weeks. The nurse then tried to tell my wife we could either have the EEG results given to us over the phone by the doctor OR the earlier appointment time, but not both. My wife’s like no. You’ll give us both. Based on the nurses previous behavior I will not get the results until the 28th. Actually, at this point, I’m considering a lawsuit against them as I’ve already filed one complaint due to my care being mismanaged.
Now, I’ve told the people who handle FMLA for my company I have a doctor’s appointment on the 7th and they’ve extended some mercy to me as far as paperwork and such. I wonder how they’re going to take another three-week delay? There will come a point that good intentions or not they won’t be able to flex anymore. Bye Bye job.
