Micro Short - A Little Help
‘This party is a joke,’ I thought, ‘who wants to hang around a pool and not swim.’ As I walked around the pool.
“Oh the poor bride,” I heard an old bitty say, “to have to cancel the wedding minutes before when she found out the groom had an orgy for a bachelor party.”
Speaking of the bride. I saw her at the edge of the pool leaning on a stone statue. I turn to walk back.
A scream.
A splash.
The bride traped not even a foot below the surface.
“Get help! Drain the pool! Or something.” I screamed as I jumped into the water suit and all.
I grabbed the bride put my mouth over hers and forced air into her mouth. Her eyes opened wide as she got a breath.
I popped my head up and took a deep breath. When I put my mouth to hers again she breathed in as I breathed out.
She must have had some scuba training because she got two breath and hold pattern instantly, I got more fresh air.
Repeat And repeat And repeat It felt like hours Where is the help I asked for.
My lungs are burning.
I think the water is lower.
An eternity later her mouth is above water.
I’m holding her up.
Maybe she is holding me up.
My muscles burn and twitch.
Someone grabs her.
I let go.
Darkness ... Bright light A vision in white I croke out “Are you an angel am I in heaven?”
She gets a huge smile.
A nurse comes into my sight as she asks me questions and checks my vitals my memory comes back. The nurse sits me up a bit higher and gives me a sip of water.
The nurse says the Dr will be in shortly and leaves.
She looks at me and said “I’ve never heard of an angel needing a cast,” she taps the one on her leg, “but I might have headed that way if not for you.”
She gets up and limps next to me.
“I wanted to do this ever since I knew I wasn’t going to die,” she said and gave me a kiss that had me light headed again.
