Small Town Bar (poetic story)

Sitting at a
Small town bar
With a jukebox
Two pool tables
And a five by five
Dance floor
Stopping on my way
Home from work
For a little
Drink or two
Not in a rush
For there is nothing
At home to
Rush home to
I felt a tapping
on my shoulder
I turned to look
A pretty little lady
Sweeter than apple pie
Looked deep in my eyes
And said “you’ll do.”

Like a jigsaw puzzle
Without a box
You can’t know
The picture
Until it’s together
That was my life
Until I was
Together with you
Missing pieces filled
The picture of my life
Me with you
