“Give us this day our day in bed.”
Traditional Student Prayer
Authors’ Note: It is difficult to portray multi-lingual conversation in works such as this. Since some of our readers may not be fully fluent both in French and in the Kobekistani dialect of Arabic, the convention used is that, where the distinction matters, all direct speech in English quotation marks is in English, thus “This is English”; French is in continental quotation marks, thus: «This is French»; Kobekistani Arabic is in italics between tildes, thus ~This is Arabic~.
This is the thirteenth book of the Delights series, so we have taken the liberty of minimising the introductory paragraphs explaining Kobekistan; those readers familiar with the country can start straight in at Chapter One. If you have never read any of these novels, we would advise reading “Absolute Delights” first.
