“I have a call to make. I hope he’s not disappointed,” Wendy said.
“I’m not stopping you,” Mr. Austin said.
“Don’t argue with me,” Wendy snapped back.
Mr. Austin said ... no ... Commanded, “Wendy ... make your call.”
Area code 307 and the rest of it.
“It’s ringing.”
And it kept ringing... 15 times before she hung up.
“You’ll try later,” Daddy said.
“Don’t try and talk me out of it.”
She tried every day and night for two weeks before there was an answer.
