Chapter 3

I waited in the waiting room for her to finish with a nice woman doctor who came and pulled me away from the old Time Magazine I was reading. It had been from six years ago even though the office had just opened a few months ago. The doctor pulled me into the room and Rosalia ran up to me and hugged me like she was upset. Standing there with this 18 year old hugging me and softly crying made me realize two things. The first was that Rosalia was about 2 inches shorter than me, and probably closer to my wife's height than mine, and the other was that there was something wrong.

"Are you Mr ... Santiago?" The doctor asked.

"No, I'm not her father, or family for that matter. I'm Mr. Smalls, her neighbor. What's the matter?" I asked.

"Well, she told me to get you when I told her the news." The doctor said.

"What news?" I asked.

"I'm pregnant." She cried.

"Really? That's awesome! Wait ... I thought you told me you didn't date." I said.

"I don't! The doctor confirmed it, I'm still a virgin." She cried.

"I don't get it then." I said. "How far along is she?"

"A few weeks, at least. I'd have to run some blood tests to make sure but based on her last period, and when ovulations should've taken place roughly two weeks or so ago." She said.

"Positive pregnancy test though?" I asked.

"Yes." The doctor said. "And with no boyfriend, she isn't sure how it happened." It hit me right then.

"Doc, I know this is farfetched but..." I started. "Can you get pregnant in a hot tub? I mean if the man came in the hot tub and you went in there and enjoyed yourself without it being drained and sanitized?"

"Not as farfetched as you might think, sperm can survive in such conditions. Though I don't think I've ever heard of someone getting pregnant in that scenario." She said.

"I have." I said. "I watched a news review about a young teen who got pregnant by a stranger in a hot tub after he jacked off in it."

"I have heard of stranger things. Do you know who the man was who came in the hot tub she was in?" The doctor asked.

"Yeah, Doc." I said as I looked at her intensely. "Cause she was in my back yard after I had relations with my wife, skinny dipping and masturbating in my hot tub."

"Well that could definitely do it, especially if she entered near where you and your wife were having relations. Listen, I'm gonna put a rush on this. Can I call you when I get the results in?" The doctor asked.

"Yeah." I said. I looked down at the possible mother of my child. I couldn't believe it as she cried in my arms. I quickly gave the doctor the number. She drew a few vials of blood from Rosalia's arm and then walked out saying we could go. I paid the co-pay then we headed back to my house. When we got in the house, she sat down in the living room.

"My parents are gonna freak out." She said.

"Your parents? Wow. Okay, I'll deal with your parents. I will explain everything." I said. I walked out the door and headed over to her house. Her father was at the door when I knocked.

"Hola neighbor!" He said.

"I need you and your wife to come with me." I said.

"What is the matter?" he said in a thick Mexican accent.

"I'll explain in a minute." I said. He called for his wife and after she met him at the door, he spoke in Spanish to her. She nodded and I led them back over to my house where Rosalia was crying on my couch. Her mother ran over to her speaking more Spanish then hugged her. I pulled out the dvd that I had made incase this had come up. I popped it in my ps3 and turned on my 57 inch tv that her father had helped me move in.

"Now, Jose, I don't want you to be angry when I show you this. Trust me it explains a lot." I said.

"What is it?" He asked before I activated the video.

"Security footage from two weeks ago." I said as I activated the video. The video was in full color with sound. I loved that ability. The video showed me and my wife getting out of the hot tub and I paused it. "I know this is just a clip but what just happened before this was that my wife and I were getting it on in our new hot tub. We've been trying for a child for a while and this was one of our tries." I said.

"Hot tub really work?" Jose asked.

"Got me hard fast and got her relaxed. I don't know if it worked to get my wife pregnant though. But notice the time stamp." I said pointing at the bottom of the screen. Jose just nodded. His wife was trying to calm her daughter down. "Now..." I said starting it up again and fast forwarding an hour or so. "Here's your daughter." I said.
